Honestly when I first got my friends into this game I did it as a joke. I expected this to be another asset flip with no soul. I was very quickly proven wrong. The dev is constantly working on fixing and updating the game and rolling out patches almost every day. The atmosphere can be genuinely terrifying in the best ways and the sound design has given my brain a minute form of ptsd where I will here specific sounds (like the alarm when the power is out or the beeping of the motion detector) when they aren't even playing. This has genuinely been an amazing experience and I can not ask for a better game of this type for the price that is being asked.

Keep up the good work BG. We're rooting for you!

VRChat USED to be a good way to socialize and hang out with people, especially when you work for a living and don't have the energy to go out to venues or bars in real life. Now that they've implemented EAC (an anti cheat client for a non-competitive social game?), which has had multiple misshaps in the past involving acting similar to spyware and still running even when applications requiring it are closed, I refuse to play this anymore. I won't weigh in on the loss of modularity or how this won't do very much to stop what the devs are claiming to actually try to fight because there are always work-arounds for software that isn't open source.

I will say that having a program running that snoops on my files isn't worth being able to play something as easily replaceable as this game.

Inscryption playing cards when?

From what I've seen so far a game like this only comes around once every decade. My friend and I went in expecting everything to be broken (as how most open world survival games usually are when they first launch... looking at you The Forest) or clunky. So far we've been beyond impressed with this game.

Pros
-The building system is amazing
-Combat feels fluid
-Resource gathering isn't a hassle
-The game is very pretty
-The game runs great
-The map is procedurally generated but doesn't look or feel like it is
-Fluffy Birb

Cons
-You have to be ready to drown hours into the game to get anywhere
-The global inventory system (while an interesting concept that can punish unwitting players and something that should definitely be kept) means that someone could jump into your server with end game equipment and demolish bosses ruining that first run experience for new players.

Possible solutions to cons
1. I don't feel like the grind really needs a solution as there already is one in the console if you want to save time because you work for a living, it's also part of why you can feel proud of what you build.
2. If it hasn't already been implemented or isn't already in the works, allow server hosts to disable global inventory on server startup.

Overall this is one of my new favorite games and I honestly look forward to seeing where it goes.

Great game with a lot of custimization available. I just miss team deathmatch.

The honest reason I've seen to ever give this game a negative review is just the price. I love playing this game and every time I queue up I know I'm in for a good time. Honestly if it was marked down to around $10 it would be a lot more worth buying.

Most people I've seen making negative reviews for this game have played it for less than 10 hours. I'm guessing that they got on, queued up for multiplayer without any real practice, expected to destroy the competition, and then got completely destroyed by someone with actual experience in the game who has actually given it a real chance to be fun. Then they turn around and just give up on playing it.

As of right now (writing this review) I have drained 33 hours of my life into this game. Out of those 33 hours I have been able to acquire a total of 13 kills.
