It's pretty.
It's easy.
You do nothing.
Seriously, nothing.
Oh ♥♥♥♥ lands on your mountain that floats in space, that's cool because why not, they make noises but that requires doing something which is almost completely against the point of the game.
Oh you can throw ♥♥♥♥ about and make random stuff happen with the weather.
OH AND BLOW YOUR MOUNTAIN UP!

Basically it's cheap and fun and weirdly relaxing, buy it dammit.

This game is great, if you like games in this genre, you'll like this, few points below..

2d but it has a lot of depth and features.
Runs great on both gaming and non gaming laptops (Halloween event overkill maybe drops a few frames ;) )
Great progression working through the tiers to the best equipment to kill the strongest bosses.
Not just one meta, even end game gear has four varients that are viable and some non end game holds worth.
Different difficulties depending on your play style.
Inventory system works across worlds (I have a vault home world)
Unicorn mounts (seriously)
Cool bosses to fight (and die to)
Minecraft, Stardew Valley and such games will love it.
Cool gear to find/craft
many items for style and buffs.
Achievements are fun and realistic completion requirements.

Oh and it's cheap and server rental is cheap so realistically why would'nt you play this?

As a whole Fallout Shelter is a great game, It's a few years old now and updates like quests and weapons/clothing factories have made it that bit deeper and more playable. I've got probably 100 hours both on Android and I'm not far off the same on Steam. I've enjoyed all these hours.

Pros:
- It's great to jump on for 5-30 minutes once or twice a day, do the quests, check how your dwellers are doing and just generally play around in the Fallout universe in a different way.
- It's free. Also more importantly the pay to win side isn't needed. I've got over 100 Nuka colour sat as I don't mind waiting to start quests or for dwellers to level up alone etc. There is plenty of content for a free game and you don't feel like you need to spend money.
- It runs well, the graphics have a nice feel and look good.

Cons:
- Using a mouse can be painful at times. I think it's because it was designed and out first on touch screen devices. The amount of dead dwellers I've had from not being able to click on the healing or the amount of times I've raged from not being able to drag a dweller. it's not a huge problem and doesn't affect the game long term, just frustrating!
- It gets predictable at times, I guarantee that I'll have a Death Claw attack within five minutes of getting in game every time without fail. Again nothing major but gets a little dull.
- Achievements. If you're an achievement hunter, don't bother unless you're worth millions or have years of time. I'll explain as it frustrated me greatly as an achievement hunter wanting perfect games.

- Get off my land - Survive 50 raider attacks. After 60 dwellers you mostly get everything apart from raiders. This ends up in starting a new game to try and get them more frequently. IMO it should be stop 100 vault attacks. This way as you progress and get Ghouls or Death Claws you can carry on getting the achievement.
- Blast from the past - Find 20 legendary dwellers. Don't bother... I've done my 200 ish hours on both devices and had five. I should be due a couple more from the last quests but that totals maybe five after 100 hours. It's basically a case of waiting for lucky lunch boxes.

All in all the game is good, I've enjoyed my time on it and will log in once or twice a week for some time still. Maybe they'll update at some point and add more game time which would be nice. The bad points aren't huge and don't get in the way so I'd recommend this game.

Hugely fun game to be played with friends for a few quick rounds! It looks great, runs smoothly and has good enough customization and game varients to keep enjoying it again and again.

It's exactly what you expect it to be, silly but structured as they're plenty of hidden things to find and use to make rediculous things happen. It has some bugs and bits but of course it does, I think they even said it would in the marketing campaign. Completely worth the money even if you just hop on for an hour of madness. I enjoy doing achievements one by one as they are plenty and each one ends with some thing amusing or weird.

Cheap, fun with a bit more depth than expected. Would buy again.

Great little game and a unique idea. It was fun playing through and getting all the gold stars for the achievements.

Unfortunatly there is a bug that breaks two of the achievements. A kind person has made a guide on how to fix that wasn't hard to understand.

I now have 100% completion on the game and enjoyed doing so!

An excellent seven casual hours of gameplay at an incredibly reasonable price! The story line is rediculous but interesting, not to mention amusing and edgy at times!

Completed all the achievements (With the help of great community guides here on Steam) and would happily give the game another run through in a few months!

Please bring out another story!!

Windward is a great game enjoyed anyway you like. I've spent time casually doing missions, taking regions, playing multiplayer servers doing raids and fighting the dragon. I've bought new ships, upgraded gear and customised the colours of my hull and sails..

I've completed the achievements which were really fun, rewarding and not too time consuming, most can be done just by enjoying the game.

Now completed I will still enjoying playing with friends or on the public servers to keep expanding my fleet of ships and ever better gear!

Highly recommended!

Early Access Review
Great game concept and very fun to play after nearly 1000 hours. Devs very good at keeping us updated via Twitter and Steam discussion patch notes!

Not sure how the game will continue now the focus looks to be moving to Survival of the Fittest but luckily modders are fast making great mods and maps for the game.

It will come down to whether the engine handles the mods in the future as to whether this game carries on or dies in my opinion. Unless we are surpised and they carry on with content when the SOFT hype slows a little. If it becomes an E-sport as such I'd imagine it will be a case of relying on mods for continual playability.

TLDR: Good alpha, plenty to do and enjoy, future depends on engine coping with the awesome mods people are making.

Awesome game to play alongside other games. Spend five minutes on it and chill.
