Basically the best game ever.

My only complaints are VAC bans from other Source games needs to apply here too. If you've cheated in one game, you've not only proved you have the capacity, knowledge, and will to cheat in a Valve game, but that already have and got caught. I have no idea why CS VAC bans don't carry across to TF2. Very frustrating.

Also some weapons really need some re-balancing.

Comp mode sucks too.

But that's really it. Fix literally these 3 issues and it becomes the perfect online shooter game ever. I can live without any more updates ever if those get addressed. It's kinda hard to expect new content for a game this old.

I think this game gets more bad press than it should.

I've beaten the campaign on Survivor and Veteran alone (I'm a third through Nightmare).

I agree the consensus that the game leaps in difficulty between the options, and that the bots are laughably bad even after so many updates; but I don't know, it scratches an itch that Left for Dead 2 never did.

I really dislike people comparing this to L4D2 at B4B's expense, so I'll quickly list what I find this games does right and wrong in contrast to L4D2 really quick and move on.
- Death animations are more distinct. Not as complex I agree, but in B4B I know when a ridden dies better than a zombie in L4D2.
- Guns are so much better. Sound better, look better, feel better.
- I love the Dynamic Game Director. Keeps the game moving never allowing a moment to rest on your laurels.
- The bosses are better and more fun to fight.
- The VS mode is 100% a miss here. L4D2 did it so much better.
- L4D2 had better unique zombies even though B4B copied a lot of them.
- I like the maps a bit better in L4D2.
- The characters are much better in L4D2 in terms of personality and voice lines.

Now that the obligatory comparison is done, let me get to what I like more.
The customization system is through the roof. Gun attachments, decks, charater buffs, teamplay, skins, corruptions, etc...
being able mix and match all of these elements on top of the game director is so fun to me. There is never a dull moment when your are in a game. I don't even mind not being able to keep attachments from weapon to weapon that much.
The only thing I find boring is that the deck you select gets presented to you in that order. It's not shuffled in any way. I would love that to be in the very least a setting that gets toggled on for higher difficulties.

I also bear a strong distaste to how you get new cards and customization. You don't get enough supply points per round to feel worth it. I also just don't like how you have to spend some of your precious few points in stuff you don't want to get to the stuff that you do. This is fine for cosmetic items like skins and banners and stuff, but I would much rather have the cards be unlocked via in-game means; my most favored idea is to hide some physically in the environment and have some unlocked when you beat certain challenges or objectives. Examples:
- Randomly find a copper related card in a car where you would normally expect copper to be found.
- Beat a stage with only melee to unlock meth head.
- Get through a stage under a time limit to get a speed related card.
- Find weapon related cards in toolkit rooms.
I'll stop here.

7/10 I only wish my friends would play this with more than once.
