I put about 80 hours into this game on PS5 and then another 12 on PC. I am OBSESSED. How dare they have a game be this addictive. It has everything. I don't even need to buy another game.

Gentle, low-stress, meditative strategy game with a wide variety of real world locations, easily accessible controls, and satisfying sound effects. This game is calming before bed (night mode is a plus!). Such a nice way to wind down from a long day. I find it to be a therapeutic way to process my backlog of thoughts while staying occupied. Definitely recommend checking this out!

A cute, creepy, atmospheric metroidvania that just felt way too short. I had hoped we would get to play through multiple episodes. The art and game play mechanics felt very satisfying, though the game itself still seemed sort of empty overall in a retro, early 00's way. I was really left wanting more. More time, more story development, more cohesion, more interaction. I do feel that Neversong successfully captured a sort of mid-autumn childhood nostalgia. It's definitely worth a play-through. I'm very excited to check out this developer's other works as well.

Such an adorable game with incredible design and intuitive controls. The optional unlockable toys and features create a ton of replay value!

Wow this game is beautiful. Incredibly difficult, but the graphics are awesome and the level of complexity with the story is impressive. I’m not very far in yet, it’s taking me awhile to get a good feeling for the complex mechanics. But I can tell how much care was put into making the game at every level, and I’m curious to learn about the extended lore as I slowly make my way through. Definitely worth it to check out!

NitW gave me everything I could ever want in a game. How could I even play another, knowing that this one exists? Platformer, hack&slash, story-rich, adventure, mystery, ghost story, political and social commentary, existential crises, multiple immersive storylines, fully developed characters, incredible replay value. Hours and hours of playtime. I specifically want to give praise to the fact that the meta puzzles and mini-games are integrated meticulously, and are legitimately challenging even to seasoned gamers. A game like this, just by pure volume of stuff to do, could very easily have suffered from feature creep, but somehow it doesn't. My only criticism, and it is exceptionally minor, is how unforgiving this game can be about mistakes. Demontower was really punishing, and really glitchy. Also, if you mess up a mini-game, you usually don't get another chance to complete it until the next day or possibly ever. The narrative just keeps going, so you have to be kind of careful. But that's super minor stuff in an otherwise godtier game. NitW is definitely worth purchasing on every platform.

I feel like I paid $20 to beta test someone's last minute G-Mod project for an Intro to Game Design class. How did it take a whole company five years to make this? The game crashed my computer repeatedly because there were so many polygons and surfaces that struggled to render. I have no idea how this was even made in Unity. It was sloppy, rushed, and unfinished. I couldn't stop cringing at the dialogue, it didn't make any sense. With all of the remnants of dropped puzzles and loose plot points all over the place, this game is literally haunted by the ghost of it's own potential. HeR Interactive basically pioneered the indie story-based game genre with their rich immersive narratives and innovative gameplay. But it's like they cut out everything that made these games feel special. MID just felt empty, uninspiring, soulless, and commercial. It felt like the characters were trapped in an empty world. There were only three puzzles, two mini games, and not even any sleuthing. This game should have cost $8.50 tops. Don't buy it unless it goes on sale, support small companies or solo devs instead.

Captain Spirit is cute but emotionally complex with plenty of meta puzzles. It's really short though, I wish it was about thirty hours longer. I don't want it to be over.

Antenna is short, cute and free. It kind of felt like the game version of Black Mirror's Metalhead. The mechanics and the plot are confusing, but it's still not a bad way to spend an hour.

I loved Oxenfree, it totally nailed the whole creepy, artsy, atmospheric vibe. The story was well developed, the puzzles were integrated seamlessly into the game, and there's so much quality dialogue. It's definitely a new favorite of mine. Check it out or don't, I'm not your boss.
