I have played every single nancy drew game that has been made. And I have to say this is an okay game. I liked the graphics but it was kind of difficult to "look around"without glitches or to find stuff. I wish it had more puzzles and less talking since the animations for the characters really bugged me. The characters animated reactions weren't timed well with the dialogue so it threw me out of immerssion sometimes. But overall, it was a decent game.

I would like words with whoever decided to change the game engine. It's buggy, slow, incredibly annoying to move through, and looks like it's one of the first 5 games in terms of graphics, not the 33rd.

If you can get over all that, the mystery makes sense and there's half again as many suspects as usual, which is nice. I did find myself thinking we'd done this game already - we've dealt with ghosts many times before (and ghosts being caused by incredibly similar hallucinations in Ghost of Thornton Hall - seriously, Nancy, why are you so gullible in this one after your experience at Thornton???), and we've even had a falsely accused of arson plotline in Alibi in Ashes!

All in all, I can't recommend it to anyone but the most die-hard ND fan, and even then it's iffy. Oh, and I say all this knowing it had graphics and engine issues going into it, so my expectations were low, and it still managed to disappoint me.

If you're looking for a Nancy Drew game to start with, I recommend any of the games from the late 2009-2012 range (Warnings at Waverly Academy, Trail of the Twister, Shadow at the Water's Edge, The Captive Curse, Alibi in Ashes, Tomb of the Lost Queen, and The Deadly Device).

Honestly, I found this one kind of boring. less puzzles than usual and more talking and story. I've been playing these for a long time and I didn't care for this one as much. the moving around was a bit harder to handle also and was a little harsh on the eyes on pc. Over all it was a good story just a bit boring.
