I am dissappointed by this game. I bought it over a year ago and when it first came out it held a lot of promise. Over the past year I have seen one of the most dishpnest, sleezy, unfair, and downright unethical devcycles. This game is terrible. I mean terrible. It was only greenlit based off of lies and unkept promises. I remember looking at DayZ the other day. It specifically says not to buy the game unless you want to support the developers. Now DayZ is not a good game at the moment much like starforge, but they SPECIFICALLY RECCOMEND, that you do NOT buy there game unless you REALLY WANT TO.

One of the things that pisses me off the most is that they go on sale very often. This was a very contriversal issue because people felt like thy were being cheated. Well, they were. All these people care about is making money. They have absolutley no passion for their game. It's all about money with them.

This game shouldn't even be on steam. What I see now is barely above prototype. This isn't even an alpha. This is a sorry excuse for what early access is. It gives that side of steam really bad rep. There are so many games that actually deserve to be noticed off of early access. It's absolutley sickening that this is even here.

ADDITIONS AS OF MOST REVENT UPDATE:
Oh my lord, this is what you call 1.0. THIS is what you call 1.0. This is nothing more than a prototype. It's riddled with bugs, has crappy animation, graphics, optimization, progression system, building mechanics, vehicle mechanics, and terrain generation mechanics. This is terrible. Then they made that post about how they're not going to add any of the features that they suckered us wit hin the first place. Where's the leveling syste, the quests, the amazing story? Where is all this stuff that they promised us. Fort wars, tower defense, and all the other amazing features that they falsely advertised. This isn't a good game and I say run for the hills with your money still in your hand because these are not the people who deserve this kind of funding. it's horrid, it's retched and it's no better than Earth: Year 2066. It is its own brand of terrible. I'm not one to constantly rant but: Oh my god are there any compentent people working in this company at all? I fear that this is yet another example set by Early Access games. I'm just... disappointed.
Early acces Games you should spend your money on:
-Starbound: This is pretty much everything starforg promised. Multiple planets, random weapond and npcs, quest system, procedural terrain. Its 2d in the way terraria is but its different from terraria in both artstyle and mechanics

-Interstellar Marines: This game doesnt have much right now, but if your really looking for a company to support this is the game to get. The concept is cool the community managers are kind and patient and I don't feel cheated when it goes on sale. It doesnt have much but with every update they've added so far has led them closer to their goal. THey have a lot of passion and it is totally worth it.

-Kerbal Space program: This game isnt for everyone, but its a very interesting sandbox game. If your into the whole nasa space thing you will love this. It's a realistic sandbox game where you build your own ships and go into space. It's a bit difficult but very fun.

@bluemime86 No, actually. While the updates are few and far between, they're large and add a lot to the game. They have the Nightly build which shows everything they're working on while it's in a buggy state and have the nonpublic branch for everything else. Essentially, they make large, terraria styled, updates that have tons of game changing content. They also do daily, not weekly, DAILY updated on what they've added to the game that day.

Now we have the subject of whether or not it's a good game. It is a good game, dare I say a great game, however, it's simnply lacking in content. StarForge is a bad game that is lacking in content and has the audacity to release to 1.0 so soon into developement. The SB community is just unaware of how much better the devs actually are than these people.

Nice relevant recommendations. Though calling this above prototype, even barely, is being a little too nice.
