An absolute blast. Don't listen to the people decrying it "only" being dozens and dozens of hours long, because it's absolutely worth the price of admission.

Critique?
+ Definitively feels like an Arkane game.
+ It's a novel concept and they really pulled it off.
+ Great retro aesthetic.
+ No quicksave is an awesome idea that has you play on your toes and forces you to go out all guns blazing where in other games you would have reloaded.
- It crashes a bit too much, but it's gotten better.
- At times you can feel pigeonholed and led through a linear path. The game is more strictly orchestrated than one would first think.

Good fun. Feels a bit like System Shock meets XIII, FTL, Rogue Legacy and so on. A first person roguelike with many influences and a clear identity.

Watch out for Screws.

Depending entirely on your preferred playstyle Destiny can either be a treasure trove of raid content and purposeful grinding; or a confusing slugfest.

With friends that have some direction, it's a decent enough looter shooter. Weapons fire a little too cleanly, there's a very sterile, normalized feeling to them. They're just not very exciting to fire and as per any standard-fare looter shooters there are more bullet sponges than one can count. This isn't a world you explore and get enraptured in. And that was never the point.

If you don't mind the lack of direction and want a solid game with a hefty grind and you revel in the idea of chasing numbers, this is probably a fantastic game.

For me it has the same shortcomings as any other live service looter shooter: it's centered around the idea of the grind. You'll spend a couple of hours in boredom for those rare hours of hoy. When it's good, it's really good; just don't expect to be thrilled by the frequent and firm inbetweens.

Far as a free to play MMO goes this has very solid presentation, activities while scarce in variete are there. You grind for the resources you need and you have a steady progression that is so typical for successful MMOs. Time invested isn't always equal to skill, but how powerful your build becomes. This game is little about intuition and more about meticulous study.

It's great, well produced; but it's all a bit samey. You hunt levels in your neverending chase of more damage. It's a game of grinding to achieve higher numbers.

All in all I'd say play it for a good dozen hours, maybe pay some to the developer to support them in future endeavors. I've had my money's worth. I was just hoping for something more. If you enjoy MMOs you'll love this. If you like me loathe grinding for resources and min-maxing you're better off elsewhere. Hell, give it a shot and form your own opinion because it's certainly worth trying.

It's just not for everyone, and that's fine.

Early Access Review
Maybe it's a sell if it ever comes out of Early Access, but right now there are too many issues, woes and network inconsistencies going on. Not much unlike all other games in the genre.

That said, I like that this game in particular is trying to at least go its own way and trim all the fat; and I want to like its concept. But there's no ooomph to the gunplay, no good feedback; and I'm often too busy fighting network and startup issues to really have a good time. Not to mention the sound is really out of whack, positional audio simply does not work; and you get little to no feedback from where you're being shot.

All issues that exist may very well be addressed before proper release. I'm well aware this is an unfinished game; and right now it's not for me. I could not possibly recommend this game to anyone in its current state. But worth keeping an eye on nontheless.

Not too good of a game. If wants to be simple, but it also wants to do too much.

The ruleset is derpy. The card system, and the fact that moves are completed when a player finishes their turn (and not at the end of a round) means that players in different positions in the queue are at an advantage and disadvantage.

The races, while a neat idea, doesn't work all that well. For instance, one race only has more expensive vehicles. This works on paper, but when the gameplay essentially boils down to 'who zergs the most', it is a massive disadvantage.

Information in the game is presented through popup windows. And there's a lot of them. when you play you have to dismiss them all of the time. It's a bother and ultimately only serves to be a timewaste. Maybe if they'd done a proper GUI that need no user intervention it would have been better.

All of this is not mentioning the fact that a user can only move one ship at a time. Build hundreds of them, then try to move them. countless of dialogs means hundreds of clicks; one for each unit. It's just not worth your time.
