This game is certainly something special.

The game itself took me 5 hours to complete, but that was 5 hours better spent than any grindy, repetative crap that's come out of any recent AAA game, and at a quarter of the price. This game is well worth buying and playing if you are a fan of good storytelling and great atmosphere.

The last Wolfenstien game set a bar for dramatic storytelling in what would otherwise be a strait forward shooter. It made you care about the characters and had an emotional depth to everything that was going on. When BJ pretended to be an actor an had to listen to a senile Hitler drone on it made me decidedly uncomfortable, and I loved the game for moments like that.

This game has none of that. It's a shooter that tries to be more like Destiny or the Division than Wolfenstien and in an already over saturated market, I can't for the life of me understand why. There's a level system and skill unlocks, the enemies have floating health bars, missions feel decidedly repetative, cutscenes are at a minimum, and the characters who give you missions are entierly forgetable cardboard cutouts who just stand there and mutter on like the first Destiny game. "Hey we need X schematic from X site because it will help us in the future." Although there is no discernable gain other than XP for getting the schematic.

The only variety in the maps is the non playable girl who occasionally wants you to go rescue some hostages or find an enigma machine while you are already on the other side of the map doing another mission.

Overall the game feels like it was trying to be a hit 80s buddy comedy, but ends up as a bad 80s B movie.

If it wasn't for the stupid AI monster interrupting your puzzling every 5 seconds, this game would be a decent puzzler.

I was one of the original backers for this game. I won't go into the usual rant of saying that they put nothing they promised in the original game and then later decided to charge for the original content they promissed in the guise of a season pass. Ok, great, well I gave it a chance anyway and no matter how many times I come back to this game, it always bites me in the rear.

Want to have an awesome ship? Great, better not have a job or responsibilities because it's going to take you about a year of gameplay to afford anything resembling a great ship.

Oh, you found a good way to make money? Better get as much as you can because the devs will patch it out almost imediately. Bounty hunting used to be great money, gone. Landing on planets and doing scan jobs used to be great money, patched out. etc.

This game gives nothing to casual gamers other than wasted time, and a heartache to everyone else. Even when you build up your reputation to get the higher paying missions ($2-$4mil per job), you can't go anywhere else because they don't know you so you'd have to start with the low paying jobs again, which makes it a pain in the ass to be a trader or courier because once you get to your destination, no one knows you and you have to fly all the way back to where you started in order to get a new mission. That's fine for small jumps, but when you are running a $6mil, 30 jump mission, it makes you want to kill yourself.

There are always promisses from the devs about new improvements greater rewards, but at this rate you'll have to wait three years and three more season passes to even get an iota of what was originally promissed.

Love this game. Even with the changes from the first one. The differences in the story based on who you saved in the first game made a second play through just as enjoyable.

Got the game on a steam sale for around 9 bucks. Not bad. Pretty much beat the thing in 4 hours. I do like the whole telekenesis ability, but honestly the game feels more like a platformer and puzzle game more than horror. There is one jump scare early on and then the rest is just hiding. I love the horror genre, but honestly I didn't feel that constant level of hyper awareness and edginess that I've gotten from games like dead space or Alien: Isolation.

I didn't think much going into this game. Mostly I just enjoy backing early access projects, but this game brought me back to the original Dead Space. Yes, there is a lot of back tracking, and the loading screens seem a bit long, but there is an intrinsic fear factor when going back to these other sections, especially if you managed to sneak around before and you you really don't want to go back up there and face those things again.

This game is like Dead Space without adequate firepower. The atmospherics alone, synced with the creepy score make this one of the scariest games I've played in a long time. Add to that the fact that the game is based around sneaking and you don't have the comfort of hefting an awe inspiring amount of firepower, and you get to a whole new level. As the game states durring the loading screens, hiding is only a temporary solution. Dispite having numerous save stations and knowing your death is only going to set you back a few minutes, every time I saw that Alien come charging towards me, I had to scream. On top of that, the game designers seemed to take ungodly pleasure in making everything take more than a few seconds to acomplish. Waiting for an elevator or transport car while the Alien prowls around is unnerving, and just knowing that start uping a generator is going to bring the thing running is even more. There's also a fair amount of nostalgia to a universe that any Alien fan is familiar with. The flight recordings from the Nostromo had me right back in the first film. This game certainly gets my vote, and I can't wait to see what's next for this new Ripley.
