All that craze around Elden Ring made me curious what all the hype is about and check out my first soulsborne game. And I'm very impressed.

I've been playing video games for 30 years, but this is one of the best games ever. It breaks the uninspired trend of maps littered with markers and filled with boring sidequest. No unnecessary holding the player by the hand and explaining what to do. Finding that out by yourself (while dying over and over again) is part of the experience.

It evokes a feeling of the first Zelda game, where you just got dropped in a confusing, fantastic world and had to figure out everything by yourself.

OMG! Same. Totally agree, feels like a real adventure! Dying is part of the fun tho, lol. 😅

@Oatmilk that isn't true. they have a large number of games which came out before demon's souls or even the PS3. Kingsfield/shadow tower/eternal ring are all gothic rpgs like the souls series, tenchu, armored core and even an animal crossing game.

Its the best highlight of FromSoftware games, as opposed to normally games helping you and holding your hand, the most help you get from souls games is a message and them showing you the controls.
