Early Access Review
Game was simply not enjoyable at all. It's hard to understand what do do what you can and cannot eat, etc. I have refunded it after over an hour of stumbling around.

It is okay game but suffers too much from you needing to know the triggers to the campaign. There is very little freedom to the way you play. You either follow planned path devs want you to follow with no option to do anything else or you need to cheese you way to battling the enemy.

Game feels far to restrictive in this respect. The fact all campaigns end after 4 missions on cliff hanger with more DLCs coming to allow you to get conclusion of anything you have done is also big turn of for me. After 25 hours of playing I have seen everything game has to offer there is zero replay value in the game for me and I am done with it saying it as someone who loved HoMM3 and had replayed multiple times. The way game is set up at present is one of thing and forget it will definitely not be a game in people memories 5 years from now sadly.

Well yes of course. It's a game I have been playing for past decade if not more a game that have almost highhandedly establish the genre of base builders while still remaining one of the most complex and satisfying games in existence. If you are into base building/colony management you simply must play it.

STEAM DECK wise it works very poorly. Game forces controller on you and even manages to override steam input for example mouse will centre to a middle of a screen even if you set a track pad to simulate mouse. Controller support is rather bad and clunky which made me uninstall on the deck. It is sad because it should be perfect deck game to chill out on a sofa.

PC: works great no issues. I am still leaving negative review because steam deck became 80% of how I play those days and something as simple as not forcing controller set up and allowing to choose between mouse and keyboard even when mouse and keyboard aren't detected would make a hell of a difference. I will change this to positive because game I'd great once I can play it on deck

I really enjoy this game. I really like when you get to hatch your own dinosaurs and make their enclosures.

I am writing this review on behave of my 7 year old son.

"I like it. It's funny. I like it because of a weird characters and because I get to play with my dad and it is fun. I like being Ibb the small one and dad is obb big one. That's it."

From me now. Game is fun it's cute, there is no failure state so you can keep doing things until they work. There is little demand for precision so even little ones like my son can manage it well and it's fun bonding time. Would recommend it to any parent and child duo.

Update:

Unfortunately with heavy heart I have to change this review to negative. As a game progresses the levels become insane precision platformer that stopped being fun and became exercise in frustration for me and my little boy. If game increased difficulty slightly I wouldn't mind that but we went from casual family fun to supper meat boy level of precision in space of 2 levels.

It's great got me to learn some basics of Java Script in order to play it and use it in practical ways throughout the game. It doesn't take much time you can leave it running in a background while doing other things and come back to it every now and then. All aspects of a game can be automated with code so your active time playing is just coming up with solutions for game to play itself which is the most fun.

I would recommend it it to anyone who enjoys logical challenges and programming puzzles.

Me and my little boy (7 years old) loves it. Controls are easy to grasp characters are very expressive and cute and he loves it we get to work to gather. Perfect father and son bonding experiance. We are about to finish 2nd island and it's been so much fun for both of us.

I like how freaquent checkpoints are so we never lose too much progress and that there are unlimited lives.

I didn't like it camera controls felt weird so did controlling units felt very wonky . It's my kind of game but this one for some reason didn't fit well.

Edit:

Thanks for your response @Nethairlinn

Quite often camera angles would be blocked by buildings or trees making it difficult to navigate so I would constantly have to spin camera around just to figure out what was going on.

As for controls. I didn't get to operating mechs. But infantry would often run without any logic. It was hard to figure out why some elements provided cover while others didn't when it would appear like they should. Cover itself was useless I would set my units to ambus just to get charges and fight turn into hand to had combat pretty much every time.

In addition to that English voice over wasn't pleasant to listen I disliked all the actors and the way they spoke was often detached from what was happening on a screen like they recorded a lines without context.

My daughter enjoyed this game. I got it for her after she played the bunny park and enjoyed that as well. Game is much more frantic than it looks but in a fun always busy doing something way. She enjoys unlocking new recipes and buying new fruit trees. She spend over 1 hour playing it in one session which is a lot for her so it must be what she likes. Would recommend it to to others.

Biggest disadvantage here are some not extra clear UIs and some hitboxes to interact require player to almost walk into a table or an oven to be able to interact with it.
