Recently decided to look at the reviews despite having finished the game a year ago. The amount of people who just cant enjoy a game unless they always win/ everything is perfect in their play through is crazy. Yes you can fail multiple quests including some main story quests if i recall. Yes it will prevent you ever getting the associated buffs or whatever. Yes you can be at times locked into deathspirals (never permanent tho) especially if your build sucks and you lose a lot of fights. Yes you need to use the wiki for the crafts ect. Yes you will crawl at a snails pace if you overload yourself with loot because you are greedy. BUT and this was massive for me: the game feels more fulfilling knowing you cant fix a death by reloading, cant respec your character mid playthrough and be good at everything like in skyrim or something. The game and its exploration elements feel dangerous and fun and its your responsibility as the player to not ruin the game for yourself through expecting to be dragonborn or something in every game, sorry but in outward you are just another mf even after finishing the story, as mobs in the volcanic biome will still own you. The buildcrafting in this game is superb and i recommend ppl to plan ahead when staring a plathrough. To summarise imo the only ♥♥♥♥♥♥ parts about the game is the garbage VA's and the fact that some items are quite redundant. I also hope the camping mechanics are improved in the next game, with for example you needing to dry wet clothes to stop freezing or to maintain your gear on the road through a minigame or something(and not just at blacksmiths) while stopping to camp. If you have some patience and are willing to learn and enjoy a vast openworld game, Outwards is the best in the genre.

Early Access Review
I wish one day the retarded devs will realise v2 is ♥♥♥♥ and they will come back to work on v1. For ♥♥♥♥'s sake its not that difficult, just steal ideas from rust while keeping the uniqe features like the temperarture and vehicle systems. Add all the ♥♥♥♥ like gun attachments from v2 into v1, add new vehicles and change the vehicle claim limit to 3. If you do this I'm sure people will give this game a second chance. Despite my review being negative, if you are considering buying the game, please do, its worth it but if things stay as they are we will soon see the player count dropping under a hundred soon.
Devs:
Just listen to the feww players you have left, come back to work on v1, or give a valid reasons for why you think v2 is more promising.

Genuenly annoyed with the idiots review bombing this game. You all enjoyed the end product, so why the ♥♥♥♥ do you care about how it was developed? If this was discovered and made public during development then yes, you should seek to stop it. But this is a thing of the past and nothing can e done about it. A bunch of kids made a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ deal with a company? Good they might learn something. So just stop preventing newcomers from enjoying a wonderful game.

It is simple and clear - It is really fun at the start until you have 600+ hours and it simply feels like a grind. But it is quite a good game still, because of the amount of time it actually had me interested in it for, much unlike h1z1 just survive or dayz that simply felt impossible to play after only 100 hours. Such shame this amount of time feels wasted, but I know it's not. Thanks to Nelson for making such a great game for players to enjoy free of charge.
