This game is absolutely fantastic and pretty intense. If you haven't seen any gameplay for the game and don't know the mechanics I would recommend going into this game blind as you'll learn strategies and the world much more on your own. That said this game has such a strong atmosphere and soundtrack. You will hear sounds that leave you worried and on edge. Fearful of what may be close to you.

Above all though, make sure to keep the lights on at night...

TLDR:
- Great gameplay that takes strong inspiration from DOOM
- Great level design and arenas
- A small but focused arsenal
- Movement that flows so well
- 6 hour length
- No additional modes or difficulties upon completion
- 2 solid boss fights but only 2

While I strongly recommend this game I don't think it's worth the hefty price tag of 49.99 usd. Unless you are just a big fan that can't wait like I am then by all means go for it! The game is a large amount of fun and a vast improvement from Shadow Warrior 2. For one, the levels are fully made and filled with insanely fun arenas that reminded me of Doom Eternal (which I oddly enough found this game way more fun than that game), and no more elemental weakness/strengths.

There are only 6 weapons in the game (if you don't count the gore weapons) which sounds bad on paper, but it helps keep everything nice and focused. It's sort of like the first one in that sense where you had a limited arsenal compared to part 2 where there was an insane amount. My one big complaint is that the game is only about 6 hours long which is incredibly short. Considering the wait I wish it was longer but the gameplay itself more than made up for it. Unfortunately there is no new game+ or new difficulty mode unlocked upon completion. So once you're done you are done. Hopefully the devs make some DLC.

Storywise it's super simplistic and you don't really need to pay attention. If you're also used to the original VA for Lo Wang like I was it will take some time to get used to his new voice. It's fine but I still prefer his original.

That's about it. I recommend waiting for the price to drop or for a sale. This game would have been perfect at 30 bucks or 40 at most.

As someone that owns a PS4 I completely slept on this game and was a bit unsure on it as I heard about the rough launch. Thankfully this PC port runs wonderfully! I played this game with my PS4 controller and didn't try the PC controls since I knew it was originally designed for console.

In terms of performance I never ran into any issues and the only time things seemed off were doing maybe 4 cutscenes total where characters were moving while the camera was moving. The framerate of their movements didn't seem so smooth for some reason. There are some glitches although they are very rare.

Gameplay is a large amount of fun although late game enemies can be bullet spongey to an annoying degree. The game is completely playable on Survival Mode which is the way you should play it. Hordes are terrifying part of the game as you can be doing a mission and suddenly encounter one around the corner finding yourself running for your life to your bike. At the same time they feel amazing when you manage to them down especially your first horde.

The writing and characters for this game is where things stand strong. I found it far more engaging than Last of Us and the characters felt so real thanks to the performance of all the actors along with the writing. At the very least I would recommend watching some videos of the game so you can enjoy the story. There's a reason why a lot of people are sad that a sequel will never happen. The story is truly special and at times feels cinematic.

A Reboot that stays Faithful to the originals!

This game is great and a ton of fun! What I don't have much time put into the game on Steam so how can I make a review? Yes it is true but the fps wasn't so good on my laptop so I got it on my PS3 and beat it on there. This game is great and a large amount of fun! Let me go over what they brought back from the past.

Soundtrack:
Raid (The theme was great and you only hear it in the beginning but it is just so perfect and fits the stuff going on!)
Coup (The music during the fight with Mecha Pon in the original Strider which was my goodness amazing)
Grandmaster Meio (Surprisingly this wasn't a remix of his theme, instead it's more like electronic type piece of music nothing like his old theme)
Siberian Tunnel (The theme to level in Siberia which was spot on and added a creepy mood the game. Fits perfectly)

+The soundtrack is just amazing and makes the experience so much more enjoyable. The Kazakh theme is just so great as well. You'll hear it a lot and it is just perfect for the action.

Gameplay:
-The faster you mash the attack button for Cypher, the faster you attack just like the original Striders
-His Famous Slide is still in the game.
-Combat is a lot of fun and there are plenty of enemies to face. Though you might have trouble in the first run of the game but second run and you can mow through them.
-Mini bosses add on to the game's experience which are fun and great.
-Enemy Introductions
-The game plays very well and the new cypher types and abilities make combat more dynamic.

+Combines old and new elements to the game for an incredible experience.
+Game plays like the Original
+Brings back iconic enemies and bosses.
+The Voice actor for Strider was spot on! You don't hear him talk much but it is a lot better than his UMVC3 voice which was like a black dude or something. He has more of a believable voice.
-No Japanese voice setting. (Still fun anyways!)
-Can get frustrating but it's okay.

As a True Strider fan I highly recommend this to anyone who played Strider in the past! You'll love it!

This game is a lot of fun! I know people don't consider it cannon since Kojima didn't really work on it. But let me tell you don't let that bother you. I'll admit the story is hard to follow at first but if you can pay attention it's quite something. Even if you use the codec to communicate to your commrades you get more juicy info.

Now how does the game play out?
Well this game is a ton of fun! It is a short game but the replay value. My goodness the action alone makes me want to come back more and more! Though I haven't finished the game yet I plan on playing through it again. The stealth moments in the game do seem pushed, but sometimes when you have option to sneak past powerful enemies you might consider sneaking. Nonetheless the game is great! The gameplay runs fast. The boss battles are just a ton of fun!

The music is also spot on! For instance in a boss battle you will hear the instrumental version of a song playing then when a specific moment happens during the fight, the vocals kick in and it just intensifies the fight! I highly recommend it!
