Still the best Nobunaga's ambition for now in my opinion. The characters and diplomacy aspect are awesome. The battle system is okay but it's simple and fun. It's really addicting but the endgame could be a bit boring since you delegate some territory to regents and let the turn pass for the easy win.

Easy to learn and great game if you're new to the genre. Can't recommend it enough.

It's a great game. The combat system is the best of the series, great character interaction, good soundtrack, good enough stories. The new key system is fine though I didn't really cared about it for quite a while before knowing why it's OP.

If you played the first and/or second game. It's an ez buy. If not I recommend playing these games first since the majority of the character's interactions refer to them.

I have no friend that knows or want to play this series and it's killing me how amazing it is for how unpopular it is in the west. I'm a JRPG enjoyer that finished some Final fantasy games (VI to X) and I played most of the tales of games as well. In my opinion they don't have an ounce of the world's building quality of the trails games.

The graphics seem a bit dated for the first trilogy of it (the sky series) but it isn't that bad a all for its time (released in 2004). You'll get used to it fast and immerse yourself with the story and great character interaction. The gameplay of the first game is good but you'll spam a lot of the same arts(spell) since the game isn't that balance but it's fine. I love how customisable the character are so there's a lot of freedom in how you build them.

But I must admit I hesitated a lot and even quit this game back when I played in 2014 since the early game is a bit slow but since 2 years I played all 11 trails game back to back for how good it was (It was worth it, believe me)

if you want voice acting there's a mod you can download that add voice acting from the evolution remake for the vita and that adds a lot for the presentation I can't recommend it enough.

I wish I could erase my experience of them and restart the 900 hours + of greatness and I'm not even kidding. This first game is like a big intro but it's a slow burn so it gets better and don't worry the ending of the first game will 100% make you play the second game (I guarantee it).

You can play with or without a guide but there's nothing wrong with using one since there's some hidden quest (you have to speak to almost all npc after every main quest to not miss one) so if you have FOMO do it just don't get spoiled.

It's a long ride but a wonderful one you'll not forget.

I felt bad giving Depression to a full staff of teen idol because I overworked them like literal slaves. But that's how we became the number one Idol production team and they thanked me in their speech as well so that's fine.

10/10 would do this again

Great conclusion for western Zemuria's story. If you played the Legend of Heroes game until this one it sure is a must buy, not only for "the Sunk Cost Fallacy" but because it's a great game with a good story (the C route is amazing) and they improved the combat system as well which is nice.

The graphics improved a bit and the music is good (people hate on Mitsuo Singa but I found some of his track fine).

You get to play over 50 character and that's quite insane but it makes managing each character's orbment's a bit of a chore tho I was fine with it.

Keep giving your money to Falcom, they still deserve it. Now then time to wait for Daybreak 2 to release while preparing to pay 2 week of groceries for the ultimate deluxe bundle edition.

This is the game that will make having played all the game worth it. You'll see some familiar faces, revisit Crossbell, visit a part of Erebonia you wished to go in the sky trilogy... Some soundtracks are great and the last dungeon is one of the best part of any trails game (I played until Kuro). You're in for a feast...

Also...Must protect Altina at all cost.

This game is one of the most wholesome and best game I've ever played. You can see how much love the dev put working on this game. I regret not buying it full price and I bough all of the soundtrack + all of the dlc.

10/10 this is the game we need but don't deserve

The good:

-The mechanics in this game are great. You have a lot of control in most situation with movement and skills so you can use them to dodge/outplay your opponent.
-A lot of variety in term of characters and style of play so you won't be bored trying them out.
-Casual and competitive modes depending on what you like.
-You can play as ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Chutulu

Cons:
-The server is really bad since 10 years and Hirez doesn't care
-The community is very toxic, but you can do like me and just use the mute button if necessary.(I recommend playing with friends)
-The matchmaking sucks, so most game will be one-sided and very chaotic. Still encouraging you to play with friends.

Overall it's a great game, but I dislike most of Hirez's decision towards it. I played this game since the beta and I have a blast with it with my friends.

I was pretty suspicious about this game but after playing it I can't recommend it enough. A bit of a warning the first game has some slow build up that not everyone has the patience to go through it (I had to force myself a little bit) . However most of first game and especially the second game are really great in term of characters , story and you will find it hard to exit the game because you'll really want to know the truth of what is happening.

Visual novel fan or not, it's a 60+ hours of fantastic storyline so yeah it's a no brainer to just buy it

It's easy to learn and it's a blast with friends. I recommend playing it with a controller and be aware of the risk of frustration when playing this game.

7/10 I recommend buying it on discount.
