Need command line parameters to limit CPU cores to 4 threads, then the game works fine under latest proton or experimental. Game will lock up on the first menu if all 8 CPU threads are active.

taskset --cpu-list 0-3 %command%

Deselecting SMT "enable odd numbered CPU's" in the Decky plugin Powertools also works, instead of the commandline Not sure which option gives best results on an OLED deck at 90hz, however.

Early Access Review
Saw overwhelmingly positive, bought, haven't even played it yet, just sat in the menu to burn 5 minutes while playing chess so I could make this even more overwhelmingly positive.

Unlike MK1, you actually get a complete game here. Character passes are here to stay obviously (as we expected from SF5's model), but at least you don't have to pay $10 for a fatality (horse armor...)

Banned from the community hub without any warning whatsoever, for saying very politely "thank you for making this game, and I try to stay out of any political arguments, and please check about the keybind issue". Bam: banned. Not even a warning.

I then instantly refunded the game.
THIS IS NOT how you treat paying customers. I'm also gay (but not out). And you want the LBGTAQ+ community to get disliked more by the "general public" and to distrust each other? That's exactly how you do it.

Vote with your wallets.

This game feels truly like a next generation Dark Souls game running on a cutting edge engine. A lot better than the original LOTF (which I did finish), and while it doesn't have the polish of Fromsoft's DS2/3 games (and remember: DS1 PTDE needed a third party mod to actually bypass the 60 FPS cap and run decently), it makes up for it by the outstanding graphics and decent gameplay effort from this studio. Definitely rough but this studio cares about this effort and are supporting it fully. Only Larian has shown similar support.

And for people that are crashing on load/shader compilation on 12th-14th gen Intel CPU's, with "out of vram" and similar errors, dial back your unstable overclocks (same goes for Remnant II and ANY game on the Unreal Engine 5).

It's a gud game! Take the best of what Larian, Black Isle and Origin (Ultimas 4-6) did and upgrade it with 20 years of knowledge and you get BG3. I haven't been this wowed by a RPG since Ultima 5...
