Always wanted to play the board game and I’m very happy to see what appears to be a great 1:1 adaptation that actually visually does a lot to stand out as well. More work visually than a lot of these tend to be!

Highly recommend.

'If you can't get into the server for x days then you'll forever be behind and there is no point.'

I remember seeing a lot of this type of discussion early on and a lot of fighting over the idea of how 'hardcore' Mortal Online 2 would be and what you would lose for essentially not being able to 'nolife' the game. So it made me ask, well, what exactly is Mortal Online 2?

It's a lot of things. It's buggy as hell sometimes - certain mechanics and features are presented in the game, but are missing... there are some general mechanics that need tweaking... so I guess one could say it's a mess, but when you consider the amount of progress that has occurred from launch until now I'd say it's promise.

My experience with Mortal is really hard to define. It's not this impossibly difficult ultra hardcore game - though it is true that you can really feel a sense of loss if you're invested in certain things, but I would add that in the same way that we mourn loss we sort of learn to appreciate our accomplishments even moreso and their potentially limited time to shine.

Mortal is not a game that penalizes or demeans your accomplishments to a point of giving up. It's a game where you can recover very easily and get up and start again with whatever personal goal you have set. It's a game where the interactions feel... real. There is a huge world that actually feels immersive. A group of allies all on horses riding in unique armor with banners - crossing through mountain paths, scouting for other players, and bonding through the act of cooperation in even the smallest things.

When I think of Mortal I think of the first time I walked outside of a mountain town (MK) and how the sun peered through the trees as I walked through the woods. I saw groups of players riding in the distance for their own set of goals. I saw characters foraging, mining, taming wild animals. Sometimes I saw nothing for a while in a totally wild and quiet area with only the wind and sound of animals.

I don't know how to describe mortal, but it's a game that drives community. I realized how much I really appreciate this when playing it, because I haven't experienced this in another 'mmo' in so long.

If you enjoy mount & blade, escape from tarkov, older mmos, morrowind, survival games, all the above... I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Mortal Online streams to get an idea of what this game is and what it working on and trying to be as well. It's a unique experience if absolutely nothing else and one that I hope you'll experience for yourself. Say hello and I'll show you around :).

I care more for this blue cube than most main characters in other games. There's a way to tell a story in such a way that really is special.

Music is 10/10 and the story is surprisingly really heartfelt.

If you're on an AMD card get used to pretty lackluster FPS. This is true for the recent sequel too. It's been out for some time now and it's still a problem.

Red Solstice is a game that requires some hours put into it dealing with some possible (likely) frustration before really enjoying it and grasping it, or at least that was the case for me. I played Red Solstice 1 and had some difficulty getting into it, but ended up loving it once I understood what was going on.

There are definitely some bugs (so far the patches have been pretty good) and at times strange tool-tips/explanations on skills and whatnot, but with time I imagine they'll improve. Currently what is there is pretty enjoyable for a decent amount of time since missions spontaneously spawn/generate and there's a decent amount of them that can occur - pair that with a lot of difficulty options and there's a good amount of stuff to sink into.

Class customization is a little strange at first, but there are some fun builds that you can do once you unlock the right skills. Unlocking skills early on is pretty easy and while it does become a bit more difficult later - resetting/respeccing isn't terribly penalizing (1% total xp) in general.

It's a tough game and at higher levels requires a decent amount of communication, but I recommend it despite the flaws that are there because the core is great and I think the community is largely very passionate for the series. If you're a fan of Alien Swarm or things like that - I'd highly recommend Red Solstice. Don't be afraid to ask people for help either; there's a lot on the screen at once sometimes and it can be overwhelming.

Incredible sound design/soundtrack and really excellent setting/style. One of the more memorable Metroidvania games I've played in general and as excellent as Salt & Sanctuary though perhaps more comparable to Salt & Sanctuary/Deaths Gambit or something.

Highly recommend if you're into dark fantasy/horror and enjoy these sorts of games.

Everything you would hope for in DMC. Wasn't a fan of 4, but this is a bit more serious and the overall feel of the game is great. Story is excellent. 100% worth.

Great in every way. Beautiful artwork, extremely well written narrative, gripping relationship between the family/well written story.

It's a very good good that might slip past some peoples radar, but I'd highly recommend checking it out.

Incredibly well done in terms of style and art - also probably some of the best directional sound I've experienced in a game where it actually mattered. Audio team deserves high praise not just for that but for audio quality and sounds in general from the music to the gunshots..ambiance, sound of glass underneath your feet etc. Sound plays a major role and it's done really well.

Game has gone through a bunch of changes since the very early EA days, but I think it's evolved into a pretty complete game. It's recently put 1.0 (launch) out on the live game as a patch and will launch soon. Naturally - I think some people will be upset since the game will have abrupt changes (many often do.) Rather than address these balancing changes and the introduction of blood bonds (which are for cosmetics/supporting the developers) I think it's more important to say that the vision that was created feels really massive and complete. My hope is that they continue to expand upon it and find new ways to keep people immersed in the mood of Hunt, because it is raw, dark and visceral.

A great game that has been expanded upon a bit since release. Good affixes/unique items as well as a game that doesn't feel like it's totally crippling you with impossible odds with rolls on items and RNG in general - but also with a good deal of room for high level play too.

If you're into loot driven games and enjoy ARPG's (Diablo, hero siege, etc.) it's totally worth checking out. Smooth and enjoyable!
