Avoid this, or maybe buy it and then go get an emulator. This crashes all to often even on high end pcs.

Fired a community manager that encouraged the player base, said the quiet part out loudd to leave negative reviews. I will not be changing my review to positive for quite some time due to this.

5/7 - Democracy has been restored, and the major order against sony is complete. Resume playing this amazing game.

PSN Drama - Join the review Divers! Downvote today! I'm not signing up for PSN. You shouldn't either.

Sony has a horrible habbit of getting breached, catastrophically. They will also lock out your fello helldivers in places that don't have access to PSN.

Some people that are in areas that are not in 69 countries PSN is available in won't be able to play or risk losing access to their account and game.

If you want a great RTS, this is the way to go, a ton of quality of life improvements over red dragon, with detailed weapon information in game, ranges, and recon info with the single press of the C button. And much more.

Someone activated Polymerization on Pokemon, Breath of the Wild, and ARK. It's great.

Pros: It's Pokemon and Ark with guns.
It's great to play with friends. I can't wait for the battle arena!
Biggest Con: Still early access and there are a few bugs that will hopefully get worked out soon.

I love this game. But please, add a spray can that has like 12 uses, so you can mark stuff. And then also sell and upgraded version that glows in the dark. :D

For Example. https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx5wgTkuDpOIPbH2tMknUjHFJiC8cK3WZ-?si=RXPEMwh6Wfxm0Pj7 Can help people mark their way back or say hey I've already checked this room.

One of the best games of all time, especially if you like DND.

All scores are relative to the Genre.

Graphics 10/10 Definitely pays to have a beefy graphics card.

Sound 9.5/10 is good, definitely what you expect, the audio cues are good in battle as well. All lines are voiced, and many are animated.

Music 9/10 I do wish some of the boss themes seemed a bit more epic, but the music is more than adequate for the game.

Control 9/10 Sometimes the Camera is a bit buggy or cumbersome, but that's to be expected in a game like this.

Story 10/10 imagine your best DND campaign.

Freedom 11/10 You can be a murder hobo, join the dark side, or light side, or somewhere in between. Your actions effect your party, and effect the cute scenes based on your influence.

Bugs: A game of this scale has some, mostly with quests in my experience, however, the recent patch has fixed a lot, and most are solved with simply saving the game, quitting the campaign and reloading your save.

All in all this game is a 10. (Fixed: I'd like to see them improve the multiplayer aspect a bit, so you could remove friends characters from games, but I understand why they haven't.)

I can't wait for mods, I want a custom battle creator.

This game will be used to measure future RPGs, regardless of whether that's a good or bad thing.

TLDR Amazing game, 10/10.

Recently, the warthunder devs were forced to eat some humble pie, and they did, and for now they have changed how things work. I'll leave my former review to see what they remedied.

SL progression is better, not as good as it could be. There is a while roadmap of what they wanted to accomplish, and for the most part they have stuck with it, with a few more things to go. Especially benefiting premium players, with insurance of not losing much if you do bad.

I would say that the ground battles are still a grind fest. I wish they'd address that. Don't try and make much money here, it won't be as easy, at least it's not for me.

Air battles have benefited the most from the recent changes. Though decompression would still be great. Just keep in mind it's not nation v nation anymore every realistic battle will be a mixed nationality of planes battle, to balance out the f14 tomcat spam. This means you can always expect to face one or two of them in the air.

I do wish they'd let us add sound mods back so I could have the real "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ betty" as the in game one seems a bit off. It's not bad, it's just a bit off.

All and all you can have some fun here! Game looks great, and if you are a CIA operative maybe you can find some classified documents from other countries on the forums. (Seriously don't leak documents D: )

This is my previous review from a snapshot of the game in March 2023

So I came from World of tanks years ago. Everything was so frustrating in that game, I thought that was the definition of predatory. Premium ammo, premium accounts, and premiums tanks.

I came to warthunder, and sure you had those things, but it didn't feel as bad. I love this game, I loved playing it with friends, joining a squadron, meeting new people, and of course having the gamer banter in chat. I have over 3k hours in game for pete's sake.

But it's only gotten so much worse over the years. They just had a post that was kinda the final straw. There were several things wrong with this. First of all they pretty much gave the middle finger to the community. I'll talk about some of the Excerpts from this, their post can be found here: https://warthunder.com/en/news/8260-how-progression-and-economy-is-built-in-f2p-games-and-war-thunder-in-particular-en

"In any game players play only when they have fun. But in a f2p game, players only pay if the game really entertains them. The player is already playing, already having fun, and pays if they want to support the game, or try something new, which is, at the same time, not necessary to enjoy the game (otherwise they would just quit playing and not pay at all).

Hence the unobvious conclusion: the less you have to pay to play the game, the more differently priced paid options it should have, so that those who can afford it can spend more, and those who can't or don't want to can play for free and have fun."

They also said this

"The game has to earn money, otherwise it will be closed. And it must make money without a pay wall, so you can play indefinitely without paying anything (so there is no deception that the game is "free" when in fact it is not). Income should provide everyone the opportunity to play a multiplayer game with multiple modes and features"

Yeah, okay, that's a great story there...but when you have top tier premiums that can barely get you to the top after an extremely long time of playing...it's just, you just keep dangling a carrot of a new premium to help get you to the top, but they often don't do just that. You have to couple them with a premium account to even make a dent it research, and well then there are silver lions.

So they really want you to buy more golden eagles to convert to silver to buy vehicles. It's beyond predatory in that sense once you get higher to top tier. Some can make it by cheesing a certain mode or some such, or have a super secret meta way to do that, but that isn't very fun in my opinion.

And good luck getting your friends to play together, if you aren't at the same spot in the tech tree, good luck, because no one wants to step down a tier because then they are wasting their game time, and going up is to bad, because the balance is already trash you have no chance. Don't worry, just buy a premium so you can all play together at a similar tier. It's just a money grab after money grab.

Don't even get me started on the money grabbing that are events these days. 40 hour grinds in a week or two period to get any decent rewards...yeah thanks. But wait, you can buy gaijin bucks to buy the reward from the people who did grind. All that money, both invested goes straight to them.

So you'll have to excuse me when I don't believe you that you don't make enough money to make the game profitable, and that you have to be this money grubbing. Show me your real accounting to prove me wrong.

Then there are threats about what might happen to the game, if you review bomb us.

I mean this in the sense of the Cliche :Oh, wouldn't it be a shame if something were to happen to the game you invested time and money into.

That's at least how I read this. Again, this is from their post.

"So review bombing does damage to the game in that new players simply won't try it, while it doesn't raise their awareness of the problems you've noticed. If your goal is not to hurt the game, please use other, less destructive ways. For example, leave feedback in our forum, and suggestions specifically about the economy we are inviting in the feedback form. Also, review bombing will not cause modifying or nullifying in-game prices - if the game is shut down, no one wins."

Don't speak up, you'll hurt our rating, this is destructive and might cause the game to shut down, because we can't get more players.

Alright...then make the game better. Stop grabbing for money. Put in requested features, don't make the game so tedious that we have to write these reviews.

And of course, as per the normal corporate speak, they threw this in there.

"we do everything possible to support the players. We commit to follow the feedback even more carefully in the future and take it into account when defining our plans for the development of the game."

Alright if this is true.

Stop Money Grabbing. Make vehicles cheaper, and easier to get, I'm not talking about premiums, I'm talking about standard vehicles. Tanks are horrible, just the worst. Stop making events a full time job.

Re-balance and decompress the tiers on actual capability.
Or you could do something along the the lines of battles where these tanks would realistic meet these tanks in a given time frame. I understand you'd adjust some so that the game was fun for smaller nations. You can do that, it's not too hard.

Don't tell your community how to express themselves. If they want to review bomb, you earned it, you did that, not us.

I want to love this game again, I really do. But I'm having a harder and harder time finding the desire to play the game.
I hope they make changes. I hope they take this Overwhelmingly Negative Status they are in right now as a sign...but reading what they posted after they got here... I don't think they will. I really hope I'm wrong.

Ha, I was just about to get into this, but with all the mods gone, and knowing people that relied on them to communicate...and VR chat's head in the sand attitude to the trends of the current user's preferences and needs. I hope they learn a bit of a lesson.

I really enjoy the game, it does have some annoying parts, it doesn't seem that well balanced at times, or consistent, there are some weird Ai exploits.

But despite those things I still have a good time.
