I have played about 4000 hours of GTA V and waited a long time for the enhanced version to come out on PC but once I played it I regretted it (maybe only now because all these problems can be fixed). I won't talk about the online mode but I must talk about the graphics.

The first and most important is the graphics settings. When I first loaded the game I noticed a very blurry image, especially when moving. This is not surprising because the game forces you to use TAA (aka the worst AA). The only solution for this is to use DLSS/FSR/in game sampling.

The second thing is upscalers - DLSS/FSR. If you try to use DLSS/ FSR3 Quality or lower, you will notice a significant loss in anti-aliasing quality. The settings with less artifacts are DLAA/FSR3 Native AA, but I heard that some people have problems with ghosting when using these upscalers. Other presets like DLSS/FSR Quality look really bad and FSR1 is not worth your time because it's like TAA but worse. DLSS/FSR implementation in this game is bad but still better than TAA. Moreover, these upscalers do not increase framerate and I think you are somehow CPU bounded in this game even though I have Ryzen 9 7950X. My GPU is around 75-80% usage and can sometimes go down to 45% which is bad optimization.

Third is FPS cap. Why is the game capped at 120 FPS? I want to use max refresh rate of my monitor and this game does not allow it. What is the point of 120 FPS cap setting in the game if the game is already capped at 120 FPS and you can't turn it off (at least in the game settings). Also they didn't add frame generation which would be very useful when disabling the 120 FPS cap as I used to play GTA V very smoothly. I think they just couldn't remove engine limit of 188 FPS but limit it to 120 is very bad idea.

The last thing is you get stuttering and bad graphics/frametime especially while moving and my game doesn't feel like 85-90 FPS. It can be described as when you are in Saint Denis in RDR2 where you have a similar issue.

So the overall image quality is not improved but you get slightly less FPS than the legacy version. If I will disable monition blur I would say that it's legacy version in terms of graphics. For NVIDIA GPU users just wait for the NVIDIA APP DLSS Override feature/new drivers and maybe that will fix the DLSS/stuttering issues because Rockstar unfortunately didn't. Loading times are a bit faster but it doesn't feel like it's much faster. So in my opinion this update is definitely not worth it at least for the graphics. I don't know if it's gotten better or worse in online/other aspects, but in terms of graphics it's gotten significantly worse.
