what seems handmade in starfield seems pretty good, the quests, the custom locations, the dialogue, all serviceable, the problem is the procedural content, which is the bulk of whats in the game

the procedural content is not particularly bad, but in my experience it takes so short for locations to be repeated that it really feels like theres not much to be seen. personally my biggest gripe with exploring planets is the total nothing of interest in the long distances between points of interest, and the constant reliance on fast travel the entire game is infested with. so you set down in a location, usually right on top of a point of interest, you want to keep exploring youll need to schlep your ass sometimes a kilometer to the next poi, maybe there will be the same animals and plants youve seen on other planets on your way there, but largely its empty space. of course the area you land in is heavily limited, its hard to really just wander like you would in another bethesda game because the spaces stop loading new points of interest within a fairly short distance from the start, requiring you to schlep your ass back to your ship to fast travel to a new area to do the same process in all over again.

Personally i think the game wouldve been better without an absurd number of planets filled with nothing, just a few planets with smaller maps that were handcrafted could have made for a stellar game. honestly maybe the entire premise was a bad idea, it just begs to be compared to no man's sky, a by no means perfect game, but still a game that does much a better job delivering on an interesting space exploration experience

fun little arcadey shooter based around quake/source style air strafing and minor upgrades, theres somehow both less and more to the game than youd expect there to be.
very pretty visuals, but you can get the gist of that from watching some gameplay

so i found this game in the description of a randomly recommended video about a rain world mod

i like it, its a pretty simple but solid platformer and its rather brief, if youve got the $6 (or like $4 right now since its on sale) id say its worth grabbing and spending a couple hours on.

it was kind of cute seeing the dev's interests sitting around, little phrases from other games, a couple familiar characters, i think i saw the max karma symbol in one of the levels

every year or two i find myself coming back to this game and pouring just an ungodly amount of time into it, its absolutely not without flaws, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do i love this game and the world its set in, wish eso hadnt essentially replaced it. oh well, looking forward to hammerfell in like 2030.

really great game, has aged incredibly well. remaster seems pretty nice, but if you want to deal with mods and really novel maps it seems like its best to seek out a community source port

its been my game to burn time on for a minute now and i quite like it, its a lot more simple but its kind of charming
be aware of hitchance though, youre gonna want to boost your chosen attack skill as much as you can manage in character creation or youre gonna have a rough time with it.

holy ♥♥♥♥ i liked this, its not free of issues, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is it fun. a lot more interesting story than i honestly expected. please play this game

this feels like an earnest game with a minimum amount of sexual content tacked on to get an audience. the gameplay is a really good twist on vampire survivors sorta gameplay, and i could totally see this existing as just the very cool tower defense/vampire survivors thing it has there. so uh, dont go into it expecting a lot of sexual content (whats there isnt bad, youll just run through all of it in like 30 minutes), its mostly about the really rather cool twist on the formula.
