In 2025 DayZ still remains the BEST sandbox pvp focused survival game out there.

The game doesn't hold your hand at all and you have to manage to survive all by yourself.
During the Early Access era, this game was hot garbage performance wise but it has come a long way since then.
It was first released back in 2013 and the player base remains very strong to this day.

This game doesn't have a story mode or anything like it, you really have to create the content yourself, by engaging with other players or being the typical a-hole who shoots at everything that moves so you can get their equipment.

Hours can go past while running from town to town but the sudden adrenaline rush hits like no other game when you come across another hostile player in the wild. Those near death situations and the excitement of killing other players for their loot is the reason people still play these type of games to this day.

DayZ is the Goat of pvp survivals at the moment but i still hope that, some studio would make a true next gen version of this in the future.
