Really nice blend of the classic Stalker SoC mechanics with modern engaging questlines and gunplay. Carries over everything as faithfully as one could hope - including the strict stealth, encumberance and merciless vendors. The only thing lacking is that NPC's tend to spawn in rather close to you, so if you're not already skulking you can find yourself ambushed. (Usually from behind)

I just recently played the original and seeing the incredibly accurate recreations of the areas from that game and re-exploring them in a new context is a lot of fun and making me really glad that it is fresh in my memory before playing Stalker 2.

Solid port of the board game - especially like the New Age expansion. Expedition story told with good visuals and faithfully recreates the experience.

I'm not normally a huge fan of randomized dungeon crawlers but something about the formula here is really satisfying. I think the key for me is replacing traditional action or RPG combat with the card based system somehow makes the luck elements of the rest of the game feel less grating. The UI is slick and works great with both mouse and controller - it's very easy to tell what is going on in terms of buffs, debuffs etc.

The characters have surprisingly distinct playstyles that provide some nice variety to a similar gameplay loop. They are also gated really well so that the "simplest" character introduces you to the game and more advanced characters show up as you get some experience.

The UI is clean and informative.

My biggest complaint is that upgrading some cards is clearly more beneficial than others despite it all having the same "cost". You'll find yourself upgrading important cards long before basic Strikes/Defends - and there is even a common event that will do all of them at once for you for free disincentivizing it more. This creates a metagame where you always upgrade the same cards first which takes a lot of the decision making space out of the game. Personally I would like it if upgrading weaker cards had a lower cost.

Controller support is excellent, and the game runs well in both Windows and Linux and on Nvidia Shield Gamestream.

As a long time RTS fan and DoW2 player, I enjoy DoW3 immensely.

The campaign is a decent length and a great intro to many of the game mechanics. I think the factions are some of the best designed Relic has ever produced, with very different playstyles, a large array of units that all fulfill their own role and the elites are all very fun to use and there's a lot of strategic potential.

I can't wait to see how Relic slots in future factions into the game, and hopefully they can address some of the complaints of missing features like observer mode, a follow-up to DoW2's last stand mode and perhaps even a Ardennes Assault style campaign for a potential expansion.

I loved this game.

I went in expecting it to be abysmal based on all the impressions of the game I've seen since release. The story is b-movie nonsense in a fun way, with excellent production values. The way the separate campaigns weave in together is neat and it's really cool to get a different perspective on the same events. In co-op the game is a blast, especially the segments where you get separated and have to work together to progress. It really feels like a game designed to be played with a friend and I had a ton of fun doing it, laughing at the goofy moments in the cinematics and appreciating the shear variety in enemy and encounter design. The lighting is top notch too, where shadows can actually conceal enemies and do a great job of providing the appropriate atmosphere. And the soundtrack is superb.

Don't come in expecting to be scared, this is not a survival horror experience in any way. It's an action game through and through. But it's a great one and well worth your time, especially if you have a friend to play with. If you enjoy games like Uncharted, Tomb Raider, FEAR or Max Payne you'll like this.

The first F.E.A.R game is one of the best first person shooters ever made. The action is visceral with excellent visual effects and a very well made AI system that brings firefights to life in a way that hasn't really been matched since. The game is also scary, with some excellently paced and crafted horror mixed into the high octane action gunfights. Atmospheric dynamic lighting and powerful audio design create a sense of tension and dread. The biggest criticism of the game is that the environments are repetitive, but honestly I prefer it to the sequels ADD approach throwing you into a new environment every hour or so. Buy it.

Gone Home is not a video game.

It's an interesting experience however. The atmosphere and attention to detail is very compelling and I enjoyed my two hours with the game shuffling through the house room by room and tearing it apart looking for interesting notes, stories and the voiced letters left by your sister. However, for the asking price I would not recommend anyone buy this product. It's simply too short and has almost zero replayability unless you really feel compelled to look for anything you might have missed in your first trip through the house. 10 years ago this would have been an obscure experimental mod for a game like Half Life 2 and not a game of the year candidate, but apparently times have changed.

Don't be turned off by the simulator nature of this game. While the combat is meant to be realistic and when you're first starting out it can be a bit daunting to learn all the controls and simply learn how to aim the game underneath is fantastic. The Campaign is a great introduction into the mechanics of the game and I'd highly recommend playing the "Survive" chapter to get a handle on basic infantry gameplay. The game is extremely moddable and it's super easy to make your own missions or to download missions made by other players.

The game does have performance issues however and is very CPU bound. I found that with my FX 8350 crossfire is useless and results in no performance gain because the processor can't keep up, but if you have a strong single card solution then an FX 8350 will work fine. Intel however is the preferred route for this game, but even then don't expect 60 FPS gameplay. That said, the game is slow paced enough that 30 FPS is more than sufficient and the game is absolutely gorgeous.

I'd absolutely recommend it if you're a fan of games like America's Army (Atleast before the most recent iteration) and Red Orchestra, or mods such as Project Reality and Insurgency.
