2) Is this related to the one (1) comment I took down on a GameBanana submission? I did that of my own volition.
I'm not a "slave to the emporium", I barely engage with workshop circles, even if I am acquainted with many people in those circles.
Regarding the flags on the badge: it's a tiny easter egg that requires you to go out of your way to find in normal gameplay (because it's hidden by the engineer's actual model). It's extremely subtle, even subtler than the controversial door on Turbine Center.
People who deliberately remove the flag are likely doing it out of hate rather than out of any other reason. I'm not engaging in "slacktivism" or "power tripping", I am taking down hateful comments because they are hateful.
