This review comes with a heavy recommendation of thick skin. For all intents and purposes the game itself is beautiful, it is a graphical masterpiece and the gunplay is top-notch with an emphasis on surprise attacks and large scale raids.

Problems arise with how dependent success in Rust is on clan gameplay. To maintain a steady and strong presence in an area you must have some means of defending against offline raiding, and when your turn comes to raid you will not be able to take on a large clan alone.

While the game itself is a technical masterpiece, the community is horrible and treacherous. Definitely find a group of trusted friends, and do not trust anyone else on this game lest you regret having your base destroyed and all your work in vain.

Also, did I mention how easy it is to lose hours (Even days) of work? Definitely have someone around to back you up so you can last til the end of a wipe unscathed, or at least have the resilience not to uninstall the game the instant you rage-quit.

TL;DR Buy the game if you have friends, don't mind losing days worth of work and can deal with an overwhelmingly toxic community.
