I feel this is largely a positive DLC, people complaining about the Dreadnaught being limited are kind of just whining as you only really need it for the technophage missions and you will get at least one of those every bloom event anyway so you have plenty of opportunities to use it.

Techpriest seems pretty interesting I haven't used it too much yet but overall this DLC has given a bit of fresh air to the game. Though it should be noted the start feels quite a bit more difficult as the technophage appears before you get the dreadnaught and those missions are no joke and really advance a planet's corruption.

Refunded.

the base building is pretty fun but it alone can't carry this game. The villains all read from the same script verbatim and any differences between them is skin deep. The world map plays like a facebook game with incredibly shallow mechanics that are necessary enough to be inescapable but boring enough to be frustrating. Overall the game is all style with very little substance and maybe one day mods or DLC will fix it but right now it is a very mediocre experience.

So after nearly 40 hours of play time I finally won my first game. This is a good story and as a game though the mechanics are simple I found it very compulsive to keep trying to succeed. It constantly teases you that the next revelation or stepping stone to power is just a few cards away and for some that's understandably frustrating for others it keeps pulling you forward.

This is a game 100% about story if that doesn't appeal then it isn't for you if getting glimpses into the strange history of a world and the powers that inhabit it while dodging the authorites, madness, sickness, destitution and despair sounds fun then I'd suggest giving it a go.

Mechanically the game has a lot of mystique which can be to its credit when hiding how to summon beings from beyond etc and to its detriment when concealing basic gameplay mechanics like how to order your minions off on tasks or how to combat negative stauses that will mean your first few runs will just be stumbling about trying to put cards in slots. if you get over that hurdle though you can run your evil cult like a well oiled engtine of dark madness and eventually ascend beyond these petty mortal concerns.
