**I almost always update my reviews over time to reflect positive or negative changes, but I like to give my early review impressions so check back later to see how things are in a few weeks / after updates**

The campaign: This was my first CoD campaign (I'm a WZ player first), I've never really been that interested in the series, although I bought 2 of the last 3 CoD games (BOCW and MW 19). I gave this one a shot since it was an early access reward. I ended up really enjoy it. The story telling was top notch and interesting, the mission to mission variety was great, and the graphics and playablity was fantastic. If I had any complaints about it, it would be that some of the best ideas were limited to single missions, and the over all length could have been about 2 hours longer to be in the perfect spot. The crafting missions in particular were my favorite.

The MP so far has been pretty good, I like it more than I did Black Ops CW and MW 2019. I think the new gadgets and weapon attachment systems are a pretty cool upgrade over the previous game. The maps seem much better than the previous mentioned CoD games as well. I haven't had a ton of time with it yet, but my over all impressions are good.

The graphics and optimizations for high end systems, as well as low end systems with DLSS, are solid. One pleasant surprise was that this game includes its own benchmark! I'm on pretty much the best of the best when it comes to my own rig (i9 12900k/4090/ddr5), and I can run the game at 3440x1440 ultra wide well over my 120HZ monitors range in terms of FPS. I was average 177 fps with everything on WITHOUT DLSS. DLSS numbers are even more impressive. It's not always good to judge a game by a full new rig, so I do have some insign from my sons computer as well. His system is a 10 year old i7 CPU but a 3070 Ti, and with DLSS on Ultra-Performance he averaged 142 FPS in the benchmark. So even old rigs with newer DLSS GPU's should run well. I am a bit disappointed the game does not seem to have an RTX setting of any time, even the previous games did so I don't understand this choice. That and I did not see this game on the list of DLSS 3.0 supported games, which does seem also like a disadvantage for the newest gen GPU's. I also did notice some potential artifacting while playing, only on certain maps, which I think others are experiencing as well. I imagine that will have to be fixed. I have got about 2 crashes, but both were between matches which is for me in the realm of forgivable.

As I stated above, I am mostly a Warzone player. I will update this when the DMZ and Warzone update comes out, but based on the crafting missions in the single player campaign I think they have a lot of promise.

One major complaint is the lack of stats in game. Currently no way to see your k/d or wins.

So at this very moment I am pretty pleased, and with 2 of the more interesting modes not even released yet, my hopes are high.

**Update 1** AIM Assist for controller players is on the broken side. You'll see a lot of pretty bogus kills that borderline look like hacking, but it is actually just a really strong AIM assist. They do need to nerf this.

**Update 2** Aim assist has been nerfed a little, so that's good news. WZ2/DMZ are out now and I mostly happy with them. They feel slightly unfinished but for a launch it's not too bad. The season pass is really nice since it's like a tree branch that you can go in directions you prefer. Also they did finally add stats. Pretty happy with my purchase.

**Update 3** Haven't notice aim assist being too bad. Lot's of good additions to DMZ, Raids, etc. Warzone 2 now has load outs, and that's a huge plus! I'd say the game is in a good spot right now, nothing too broken. My sons older system (3070 Ti though) still has crashes. 1-2 times a day depending on how long we play.
