Honestly, it's a solid dungeon crawler with a good amount of depth. Mixed with a good gameplay loop of exploring to get resources and heading back to your cult to use them and level up. It's fun, there's a good amount of depth here, it looks good and doesn't pull you out of the game to explain how to have fun playing the game. It's just good. I kind of wish it was a bit more difficult sometimes as far as the cult sim bits go. Seems very easy to get everything you need and there's not a lot of difficult once you get that ball rolling. In fact, it seems the game just keeps making the cult sim parts easier without really adding more challenges or some sort of ramping difficulty. The dungeon crawling has a story mode, but also an endless-type run you can do. Both feel challenging and rewarding. I'd say a solid 8/10: It's fun, it keeps you engaged in a loop, it's aesthetically pleasing without overdoing it's themes, and it's focused on keeping you entertained and having fun.

I don't have a ton of play time. I just want to leave my two cents based on what the reviews/advertising was telling me, versus the actual product that I bought.

A LOT of reviews saying this is "CoD but on VR," are.... interesting.... I would say more accurately, this is Pavlov but if it was made by a Korean company closer to Nexon Counter Strike or CrossfireX. It feels like a lot of content, but with no actual polish that makes it fun or impressive to experience in VR. The only things that keep the CoD comparisons relevant are the sliding mechanic and regenerating health. Everything else is almost exactly Pavlov but just... lacking polish.

To say "The graphics were downgraded to run on Oculus" would be a compliment. This looks like a browser game. Everything looks flat and muddy with just bad map design. Nothing about this feels even remotely like CoD and if that's what's interested you, you're looking in the wrong place. An arcade-y shooter with run-and-gun would've been fun! But what we have here is a floaty, Pavlov shooter that has an identity crisis between it's fast-paced inspiration and the slower methodical game it copied it's homework from.

Early Access Review
Well done. Was waiting on a big content update to officially give my seal of approval. The new maps are fun, feel new and the AI changes are only getting better. It feels like the developers have a good read on the pulse of both the game and the community. If the updates come monthly, or every other month, this game is going to be a huge treat.

As much as people dump on Fortnite, at least it's not PUBG.

Got an achievement while trying to play "Hey Jude," with no musical experience by jumping on the piano with my feet.

10/10

Schell Games absolutely kills it again. Great game, arcade-y but immersive, and fun to play.

A silent hill style vr game would be a no-brainer for horror fans.

Unfortunately the game slips up so much, it's extremely difficult to give it a pass.

First, the technical issues. Sound completely cut out multiple times, framerate dips (especially when turning or when animations are playing. The game just looks ugly. If the entire game was PS1/PS2 graphics, it would fit the theme! I'd PAY to be in a silent hill game! However the developers throw ugly PS1 style rooms in with PS2-era models and some of these are even attached to each other! It sticks out like a sore thumb and it just looks like a bad student project. This is a great idea, I'm just not paying anywhere near $25 for a student project. Let alone a sloppy one.

CS:GO Review
Much less hackers, hit-reg issues are much less common.
