Great Vampire-survivors-like. Unique mechanic, meta-progression is key, great soundtrack, visuals are decent. Would recommend.

TLDR; Color palette needs an overhaul, too much teal and blue may make it difficult for some to enjoy, especially in the later stages of a level when the screen is almost full of things.

This game is great, and some may not have the issue I am having. If you do not have the issue, I do recommend the game, esp. if you are a survivors-like fan.

So, my issue is the monotonous teal tone this game is painted with. Every enemy is one color, some fire missiles that are the same color [teal], some of the asteroids are blue (almost the same color), most of the ships are colored some type of blue and the ones that aren't are outlined in blue, roughly 75% of the weapons you acquire all have blue/teal animations, and this makes the late game very hard when the screen is absolutely saturated with enemies and asteroids and your projectiles/bombs/drones and the vast majority of those things are so close in color its hard to tell everything apart or decipher when and where to move.

Early Access Review
This game is great! Marrying so many mechanics from many different titles; Regular ol' RPG overall, also has city builder mechanics, reputation system, many skill/spell options to choose from, and a travel system akin to Mount and Blade. The graphics are very 'Meh' and there is definitely a fair amount of jankiness in the game, but this is an Early Access title, through and through. There are a plethora of bugs and things that are missing, so beware. The world map you traverse is sparse, empty, and the maps you drop into don't have too much variety... yet. I'm no computer whizz, by any means, so I don't know the exact terminology for this, and I know this is something that may happen later in the process; But the game has performance issues, as well, which are thankfully (for me, at least,) easy to minimize. There have been regular updates, patches, hot fixes, and just the overall developer communication with fans has been amazing.

To wrap up, if you do not mind buying into a growing game (***a game that, in my opinion, still has a really long way to go to be a polished 1.0, this game still feels extremely barebones. I cannot stress that enough.), this one seems to be a gem. It's whacky, feels almost satirical, and has a lot of the classic RPG mechanics I love. Plus, who doesn't love making yourself ungodly powerful and sending ragdoll corpses flying around the map?

Changing review, game is a bit better these days. Stuttering only seems to occur at zone changes, runs well now.

Game is very fun like the first, new mechanics, new stances, and all the old stuff brought back. I'm happy with the game at this point. about 60% through it now, and i find myself hunting for all the stuff and searching every nook and cranny like i did in the first.

If you liked the first, you'll like this one, as well.

The game itself is 10/10, in my book. But realistically, it's currently a 4/10 experience, at times. Game itself is fine, matchmaking is so broken at the moment, and there are a handful of bugs; such as a bug that wipes your account/unlocks, a bug that locks you completely out of the game, bugs in matchmaking making it hard to play with others.

All that being said, the devs have been regularly putting out patches to fix things, which is ultimately what tipped me back towards this game being worthy of a recommend. It'll be great for who knows how long, and the bugs will be ironed out and the rough launch will be put to rest... eventually, so be aware of the games state when buying it as of Feb 2024. <3

Enshrouded feels like a game inspired by Conan Exiles and Valheim, with their own contribution, of course.

I haven't had this much fun exploring since Valheim. Lots of good things here, lots of things missings that could/should be in the game, early access so keep that in mind and be prepared to be blown away.
