With Fallout 4 Bethesda has delivered another great addition to the series. We find ourselves back on the West Coast amid the ruins of Boston in the Commonwealth. This time our Vault dweller is a survivor of the bombs dropping in 2077 , having been kept frozen in Vault 111 for 200 years. And in a reversal of Fallout 3s main story its now the parent looking for the child as your child is kidnapped just before your vault dweller awakes from being frozen.

Good points:
- the map in this game is brilliant with the Commonwealth covering a large area that is densely packed with locations to visit and explore. Its also a lot more colourful with the horrible green and orange filters from the previous games making a welcome departure.
- combat has been improved a lot and now aiming down the sights with your weapon is as viable approach to combat instead of being overly reliant on VATS to score hits (though VATS is still there to use). Grenades and explosives now have their own button for throwing which makes combat a lot more enjoyable.
- one of the big new features in this game is being able to construct your settlements and though the interface is a bit flawed its a lot of fun and can be addictive. Not to mention the random junk you find in the Comonwealth now has a use for construction parts. Its not mandatory and you can completely avoid it if you want but it makes for a fun distraction.
- another new feature is the ability to customize weapon and armour. Again junk is now useful for this too and you get a lot of customization weapons for each type of weapon and armor. Power armour is now a seperate suit that you climb into and is now really powerful with high damage and rad resistancewith the trade off being it requires depleteing fusion cells to power it for use.

Bad points:
- another big change for this game is the fact your character now speaks. The problem with this is the dialogue options are now more restricted as a result and conversations feel dumbed down. While i appreciate the attempt to try something new its sort of backfired in the sense that conversations feel like theyve taken a step backwards after the great dialogue options in New Vegas.
-and speaking of New Vegas is had hoped Bethesda might have learned something from Obsidian about making a great story with interesting quests that have many outcomes and resolutions. Instead for the most part its the standard Bethesda quests with not many outcome options and a story which is ok if not amazing.

tl:dr this is a fanatastic game and a great addition to the series. The Commonwealth is an amazing environment and the new settlement construction and weapon mods are fanastic additions. The game has it flaws mainly with the dialogue interations and quests with limited outcomes but i doesnt spoil what is a fun and entertaining experience.
