This game is so good that at launch 400,000 people completely destroyed a dev teams hopes of having any type of celebration of the games success.

It's like EDF and Helldivers 1 had a child together, and in addition to being a blast to play it looks incredible.

This game is crack!

Strongly recommend giving it a go, the only thing it's missing is some sort of visual unit customisation.

Absolutely love figuring out all the match ups and encountering new strategies and trying to figure out how to beat them in the middle of combat.

Looking forward to seeing what it ends up as but as an early access product it feels refreshingly complete!

I beat a man half to death with a leather wrapped wooden club and dragged him back to my house with a rope, forced him to eat gruel and push a giant stone wheel until his spirit was broken and then made him dance for me rain hail or shine.

My sister then stole him away under the guise of "giving him a better life" and put him up in a fancy room with fine rugs and furniture.

I thought at this moment perhaps I was wrong, perhaps he deserved a better life than that I had provided for him.

But these fine trappings were all a ruse. She murdered him in cold blood, hacking his body to pieces and feeding it to the hyenas.

His name was Sensual Jafar and he was full of life, and in death? he shall be avenged.

This game is a shockingly good time. There's definitely an adjustment period where you need to re-learn how to play its bespoke approach to RTS (combing tactical, mil-sim esc top down combined arms combat with intense third person shooting), however once you're over that hump it's consistently fun and insanely impressive.

It's really hard for me to have quite as much fun playing other RTS games now knowing I can't just jump into a soldier and deliver a battle defining anti-tank grenade into the ass end of something someones been saving up all game for.

While the campaign cut-scenes are a bit janky and there's bugs here and there, overall it's an extremely impressive title.

There's heaps of content for both chilling out on the weekend in conquest mode or jumping into MP battles with friends, and the skirmish maps are an absolute blast with some major challenges that we'll gladly grind out for an entire Sunday for the hope of victory.

To any of my friends who haven't picked it up yet and see this, pick it up ASAP I can't wait for you to experience it!

This game is absolutely fantastic and I cant believe i have never heard of it before, I will say though that to really appreciate it it must be played with a group of friends.

I do hope one day they get the AI / singleplayer campaign stuff up to scratch because I still think there's huge potential there, but right now it's one of those games that with a competent (or useless) group of friends you are bound to have a fantastic time.

Big props to the devs for the great editing tools as well, its amazing that you can modify or make your own subs right in game so easily.

Alright, with the Shadow & the Blade update that came out last week and reduced the end turn times by 60% i think it's about time I dropped a review for this amazing game.

Total war has always been a series dear to my heart and I think in Warhammer 2 CA really demonstrated what they are capable of. This game is simply awesome in the dictionary definition of the word.

If there was major positive I would call out here is it's the variety, there are so many factions to experience and if you're a fan of Warhammer it's an absolutely awesome lore rich world to sink your teeth into, if you've never really looked into the fantasy side of Warhammer but love fantasy in general I think you will find incredible just how much there is and how interesting and varied the races are, and even in the base game there are some fantastic races to sink your teeth into including the glorious High Elves or the treacherous Skaven which couldn't be more different on the battle field, additionally factions have unique campaign map interactions and systems that make you want to come back and replay the game time and time again.

The battles for me are what really make me come back to this game time and time again, it might be confusing at first but spend some time learning and thinking about your army composition and positioning on the battlefield, it's amazing the battles you can win when you learn how to flank, which units will do well against which enemy units, how to make enemy's rout and how to use your spells effectively.

Oh yeah. Magic.
If you've played Total War before but never tried the Warhammer series, magic is one of the big things to get used to that will be different and boy does it add some extra fun into the mix! Buffing and debuffing, healing units, devastating spells wiping out enemy units at key moments, they add a lot of excitement to what is already an awesome battle system. Some factions also have awesome thematic spells like Necromancers summoning units of skeletons in the thick of the fight, these might not last very long or do much damage, but there's some real fun to be had summoning a wall of zombies at the perfect moment right before your enemies cavalry charge would have smashed into the back of your expensive grave guard.

Negatives wise, it's hard to fault a game I love so much but there are some short comings in the campaign department that are fundamental issues with total war as a whole, I'de still love to see more interesting trade and diplomacy, Three Kingdoms showed me that even just a bit of tweaking can make the diplomacy feel a lot more immersive so I know the capability is there.

I also wish there was more options for multiplayer, like more players in a campaign, or a custom campaign.

I would love to see more game types for custom battles and multiplayer battles, like it would be awesome to have something like battle plans from AoS in the game:
- maps with 6 objectives
- maps with objectives that change position during the game
- maps with objectives only certain unit types can capture and hold
- maps with more line of sight blocking terrain

Also for the love of Nagash can we please get a custom faction system at some point, I know it's not too hard to make your own custom army colours modding the game these days with amazing community tools like PFM but it would be great to be able to make a custom faction with its own colours or even a custom legendary lord for it or something. (wishful thinking)

Thanks CA, can't wait for 3 :)
