This wasn't the game that was at all represented in the store trailer or images. It's an escape room and climbing simulator skinned as a pirate game.

Very much baffled as to how this is rated Very Positive.
Have had a miserable time to say the least trying to get to a point where it feels like I am experiencing the game.
5 hours in and I THINK I am at somewhat the beginning.
Instructions within the game are terrible IMO.

I will change my review as I plan on streaming this to my community but so far It's a very grindy and overall a truly boring experience.

Pros:
- Perfect atmosphere/visual
- Great relevant idea
- Self aware B-Movie humour? (maybe?)

Cons:
- The price is utterly insulting and along with how deliberately your progress is restricted, it (funnily enough) will have you exceed the 2 hour mark thus making refunding this "game" impossible (I have seen some people refund their purchases with 3 hours of gameplay however I am on my 3rd attempt at getting my money back with no success)

- Character restrictions deliberately used to lengthen game-play (even after the update 1.0.2 your stamina is just not realistic and just all round bad)

- Poor quest guidance (even after the update 1.0.2 - Areas seemingly irrelevant previously suddenly require back tracking to after witnessing, for instance, a barn door being closed now suddenly being wide open.)

- illogical environment restrictions (knee high fencing/gates that don't work but are clearly gates)

- Environments being Invisibly or visually locked to fit poor quest narrative and then becoming miraculously open/closed to further push the poor story/quest lines along.

- Nonsensical decisions being made/restricted despite the situation (poor writing/design, not picking up the officers fully working flashlight despite your own being a wind up flashlight???)

- INCREDIBLY DULL fetch and carry quests (nothing exciting at all considering ET's have landed)

- Lack of weapons/ammunition in a rural setting of Texas (makes zero sense considering the whole town is aware of these visits)

- Non existence of self navigation/map (even after the update 1.0.2) The fact that every square ft in Greyhill looks the same as the last it becomes immensely difficult to follow quest tasks such as "go to field" at this point you've been through a number of fields with NO DISTINGUISHING FEATURES to set them apart, and seeing as you have needed to back track in the past, its never EVER obvious and you could end up wandering around for 40+ minutes with no obvious indicator (even after the update 1.0.2 *i will keep stressing this devs)

- Non threatening protagonists. The Aliens have been modelled off of The McPherson Tape (1989 found footage movie) entities, you can tell this from the red lasers they use and that well, they're identical in every-way . Why on earth was it not considered to allow the entities to use these devices to shoot at/burn the player? resulting in much more exciting combat and the need to actually make the game feel Intense and immersive like its in a rural setting. THIS WILL CREATE EXCITEMENT (slams head on table) more reasons for stealth, more ability to question your tactics/approach to a quest. How lazy can these devs be?

Summary: With such relevance in the public sphere with regards to Aliens it was hard to think that such an idea could be executed so incredibly poorly in every aspect of the word. The setting, mood & tone makes sense, but everything else that should help to immerse you in those 3 things just doesn't exist at all. The premise and idea of the Greyhill Incident is fantastic, the execution has been the single most frustrating experience I have had in 3 decades of gaming.

Seeing as my 3 attempts to get my purchase refunded have failed, even after exampling how the dev's restrictive tactics on your ability to move at a naturally human pace prompts the player to exceed the 2 hour refund mark, I might as well criticise every fibre of this products existence in hopes that it will somehow be completely overhauled and in turn miraculously encourage me to spare 1.5 hours (without the scummy tactics of slowing progression that's the length of the game) to attempt it one more time.

That being said i have absolutely -100% desire to step foot into Greyhill ever again. I work hard for the money i get to spare on video games, and I feel my review is massively justified.
I paid $30+ for the enhanced bundle that delivers nothing of substance or entertainment, not even the art work is interesting.

I'm getting worked up the further i get into writing this so ill end it now so i do not further ruin my weekend entirely.

I do not recommend this game, at all!

The game is practically unplayable for myself, no matter what settings i changes, even playing on low is stuttering, the menu FPS runs horrifically.

Early Access Review
I played one solo game and uninstalled immediately completing the mission.
The only bug i found was that the main cryptid I was set to kill spawned in the room of a house, not attacking me at all, proceeded to empty bullets into it with grenades. Discovered air drops are a thing, got more ammo proceeded to walk back to the bugged boss with no problems and finished it off. COMPLETE appeared on ym screen, then main menu.

I know what they're trying to achieve wit this game but to even think of allowing people to pay $12 for an early access game in this state is wrong.

Game needs so much more work before it should even consider being made available.
Its unattractive to look at because it SCREAMS unity asset flip.

Will keep my eyes on this game for updates (Bigfoot ended up impressing) so I have hopes this will follow suit.

Losing more runes to straight up crashes than i am dying. The game is absolutely awesome but, for me, it's randomly crashing when it wants for unknown reasons.
