Halo: The Master Chief Collection is absolutely worth the full price (39.99 USD). I have been playing for one week and enjoyed nearly every minute. I must mention that as of right now (12/12/2019) only Halo Reach is available for this collection. The remaining titles will be added over the course of 2020. As of right now I can only speak to my experience playing Halo Reach. So far it has a pretty great experience, though far from perfect.

The game looks amazing in 60fps and playing on mouse and keyboard feels very nice. The game also features full controller support which is great, especially when using the Xbox 360 controller for maximum nostalgia.

In the multiplayer experience there is certainly room for improvement. For starters, spawning is not very good. It is not uncommon for spawns to be inconvenient and frustrating during matches. The majority of slayer matches are the Slayer DMR variant and in almost all cases the bleed through mechanic is enabled. Starting with DMR’s can make a match feel stale rather quickly, and the bleed through mechanic ruins the game.

It is my opinion that players should have a bit more control over multiplayer matches. In the original game the players had the chance to vote between 3 different choices when entering a match: In Halo 3, players had the option to veto an upcoming match. I believe this game could greatly benefit from implementing either of these systems.

I want to be clear that I really enjoy playing Halo on PC and would recommend it to both new and veteran Halo fans. I would only mention that the experience of playing this game has plenty of room for improvement. I am excited for Halo to be revived on PC, and I will be looking forward to the additions to this game over the course of the coming year. The Great Journey of Halo: The Master Chief Collection continues on PC!
