9.5/10. It improves on almost every aspect in the first game whilst also introducing a bunch of new gameplay mechanics to freshen up and refine the gameplay loop from the first DOOM.
The guns and gun mods all feel brilliant to use and all have their specific uses against certain demons.
The story has a bit more depth to it this time around if you're into that.
Music still banging.

8/10. Nice and fun game about massacring a bunch of demons.
Story is easy to follow and doesn't have to take itself too seriously.
Gameplay is fun with lots of options available in your arsenal and also a simple upgrade system.
And the music bangs.

Very solid 8/10. The gameplay can be fairly basic but still pretty enjoyable, the platforming aspects make up for it as you progress through the story.

The settings and atmosphere are pretty well thought out and give a decent amount of variety but I maybe would've liked a couple more locales.

I would say where this game really stands out is with the world building/dialogue/story. This is what for me kept the game enticing, it's unlike any other game I've played. The creativity from the developers to just put in whatever they thought into the game and build around it while constantly breaking the fourth wall makes you sort of feel connected with them in a way.

Any fans of Rick & Morty (especially the earlier seasons + interdimensional cable) that want a pretty casual shooter in a brilliantly crafted world that shares similarities with the show should definitely give it a try.

8/10. Good story, great set of characters and a brilliant soundtrack. Chapters felt a bit repetitive after a while but it was made up for in the things the game does well.
Any fans of Danganronpa that are looking for something similar should give it a go, as there are many similarities between the two.

9/10 Overall. (Shadow Generations 9.5/10 and Sonic Generations 8.5/10)
Shadow Generations is a true return to form for Sonic in pretty much every way.

SHADOW GENERATIONS
The stages are fantastic and show the potential of what peak 3d boosting gameplay could be. The doom powers and chaos control provide replayability in learning to master them to access different routes. The act 2 of the stages show that Sonic team can make brilliant 2d levels, I think it felt way better to have a seperate 3d and 2d act instead of trying to fit 2d segments inside the 3d act. I think the bosses were an upgrade on Sonic generations in every way.

I thought the story and presentation was great in doing Shadow justice after it felt like Sonic team had forgotten about him for years. The music was amazing again which didn't surprise me, I always know the sound team will deliver.

The open world hub area was a great addition and added some of that frontiers open zone charm to the game which I think fit together nicely. If Sonic team are continuing with the frontiers gameplay model then I think they should focus more on what they did with this game, tune back the open zone a bit in favour for less but longer and more developed cyberspace levels.

SONIC GENERATIONS
The only downside to this whole package really was going to Sonic generations after playing the Shadow generations side. Sonic generations just felt a bit outdated in comparison and i feel like they could have given it a bit more love and polish. But still, Sonic generations is a great Sonic game by itself and is nice to have alongside the Shadow portion of the game.

CONCLUSION
This game is a must have for any Sonic fan and is a great jumping on point for anyone wanting to give Sonic a go. We could be entering a grand and exciting era for Sonic, of which hasn't been seen for over a decade and now is as good of a time as any to hop in and join for the ride.

9/10. A brilliantly crafted dark fantasy world with endless options on how you want to tackle the games many complex bosses.
The progression system is one of the fairest and best feeling that I've experienced.
The lands between while it may feel huge as some detailed intricacies to it and lots of secrets to explore.
The soundtrack is built perfectly to not be overwhelming during exploration but instead really shine through the big battles.
The game may sometimes struggle with performance and not be the best visually looking games out there but who am I to really care when I'm swinging a huge badass sword against some massive boss with instruments and a choir blasting through my ears.

8/10. A great Sonic experience with fun gameplay, a decent story, varied level theme/design and of course a killer soundtrack. Was only disappointed with the fairly short game completion time and the repetitive boss fights.

9.5/10 Great story, Great gameplay, Great world, Great soundtrack.
Just a few odd quirks in gameplay surrounding the machine ai and a small handful of bugs.
One of the best single-player experiences I have had, would highly recommend.

4/10 controls are bad, story is poor, gimmicks are boring, music is good.
Wouldn't recommend 100% this game but playing through normally is okay if it's on sale.
