An absolute masterpiece that moves the JRPG genre forward and will be looked back for many generations to come with fondness like the PS1/PS2 Final Fantasies and JRPG greats.
This is the game many fans of the genre have been waiting for, for decades. This is the Final Fantasy we've been waiting for.

Addicting, fun, gripping, beautiful, and many other things, you won't be able to stop playing this game, and when you walk away, you can't stop thinking about it and want to play more.

The word masterpiece gets thrown out a lot, but this is legitimately one, or 3 masterpieces in one: masterpiece in being a complete video game package with amazing story, being a piece of art, and being an incredible soundtrack that lingers with you.

33/10, FOR THOSE THAT COME AFTER

Absolute PEAK JRPG and a quintessential JRPG experience.

- Fun turn based combat with a lot of customization of weapons, abilities, spells, formations, and party makeup.
- Cool family generation system and permanent death is also really interesting in giving it sort of a JRPG XCOM feel.
- Quest choice and decisions that can alter progression and outcomes -- unlocking things or locking them.
The original game was definitely ahead of its time with its system of allowing the player to make choices that alter quest progression and what's available, so this game fits right in with the current generation of RPGs.

The story is pretty linear and sparse, but it gives the player a lot of room for their own headcanon of events, who they choose as their emperor and their party members, and what happens each generation.

Great game and RPG with a really cool mature protagonist like Yuri from Vesperia.

Localization and dub is woke trash though, so I won't be supporting NIS America with future purchases.

3/5 of the way through the game, giving my two cents after learning they ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dubbed a main character with a non-binary male voice actor with a deep male voice when the character is a reverse trap/intersex. HOLY.

Still a good game, so I'll play the sequels. Recommended, just play with subs.

An amazing game and experience, this sequel is even better than the first, which was one of the best action RPGs ever made. The post-game and true ending in this are also fantastic -- the fact that "Dragon's Dogma II" doesn't actually start until the post-game is actually pretty sick.

There are some technical issues in the main capital city, but everything outside of there is fairly smooth and runs fine. I hope an expansion adds more enemy types, but asides from that, I can't complain about much else.

No JRPG has this amount of content and things to do, this game is an absolute banger and is very hard to put down.
Not only is it Persona with boomers (an absolutely amazing thing), it literally has Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Crazy Taxi, and Pokemon Snap as side content.

Boomer Persona 2 is even better than the previous with major improvements to gameplay and quality of life changes. Honolulu is also the best city they've ever made.

This game is up there with Yakuza 0, Yakuza 7, and Gaiden as the best in the series for me.

the servers are ass and the missions are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trash with less depth compared to the previous games.

The game even has less missions than Payday 1 and Payday 1 at least had very fun and very lengthy missions.

edit: this game still sucks

A really nice and cozy game to vibe to.

Kinda short, but an overall good game.
