Ghostrunner is really cool and stylish in a way that I don't think any other first person game I've played is. Most of the time its challenging but fair, and I cannot wait to see insane speed runs of this game once the community have some time in it. That said - there's certainly a few areas for improvement that I think need to be noted.

The biggest issue I had with the game is that some of the placement of items in the level is done a little questionably. Often I would string together a number of wall runs, jumps and so on, only to narrowly miss a railing (that you sort of grind along) that really looked like it should have been perfectly in line. There would be some areas I got stuck on due to difficult combat encounters where 9 times out of 10 I would land a string of movement abilities perfectly, and the other 1 time just didn't make sense as to why it wasn't working. This extends to the wall running as well, where I could seemingly hold the exact same inputs down and sometimes it would lead to a wall run, while others I would just fall down next to the wall and die. I think if you are the sort of person who easily gets annoyed by games being a little inconsistent, this game is going to infuriate you. If you can overlook that, or if you are able to just stop, take a breath and even maybe walk away from t he game for a minute or two, you'll have a good time.

I finished the game in about 6 hours over two sessions, and I think it was well worth the asking price. In fact, some of the cyber void segments felt needlessly extended and I think the game might have actually been even better at a 5 hour mark instead. The story was pretty forgettable, and the voice acting is fairly dry, but the minute-to-minute gameplay and the music are absolutely amazing. I hope the dev adds to this game, maybe with some challenge modes with courses, or even just makes a sequel, because I thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to see more in the future!

Second Extinction is basically what happens if you take elements of Deep Rock Galactic and Call of Duty's Plunder mode and throw a bunch of dinos in there instead of other players or bugs! Its great fun.

There's currently a bunch of small issues (and perhaps some big ones for people with certain monitors - base on the forums), but if you are the sort of person who can overlook some small early access quirks, I think you'll have a great time with the game. Its challenging, rewarding and super enjoyable. As long as the devs get onto the bug fixes, I can see this having a long life for those of us who like these sorts of games!

Played the demo for like 10 minutes, promptly quit out and bought the full game. Loving it! Very similar to another game I enjoy called Gunfire Reborn with some changes. Difficulty quickly ramps up so you should expect to die a bunch, but the game is amazing. Loving the sudden surge of FPS-roguelites coming out atm!

Honestly, its one of the best feeling games I've played in a very long time. It has a bunch of assets from Paragon, and other free UE4 assets (UE4 dev myself so I recognise most of them instantly haha)... but who cares. The game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tight and feels so wonderful to play its an easy recommendation. Music is really good, difficulty seems really nicely balanced, lots of interesting items, mutators, etc. Just buy it now!

Didn't expect too much for the price - just thought it'd be a chill relaxing thing. Fired it up expecting to spent 10 minutes or so... 2 hours later... where did the time go?

Very satisfying and cool concept for a game that is super relaxing and chill, but also keeps you engaged in a really good way. Will definitely be sinking more time into t his and looking forward to future content additions!

Fun enough game, but despite the fact that I usually love this style of game (put a lot of time into Graveyard Keeper, Stardew, Animal Crossing, as well as a bunch of more focused tycoon games of this nature), it ended up feeling a lot like work to me for some reason. Still gonna hit recommend but I did refund it because it just didn't hold my attention sadly.

This game is incredibly good! Lets get that out of the way...

To start with, the shooting here is insanely tight. Every gun has a unique feel and sound to it, and you have a lot of weapon archetypes to choose from - you will most likely find a couple of favourites that you will want to focus on, but even the others are enjoyable to use when you have to.

The progression systems are very nicely thought out and create a very addictive loop of "just one more run" much like popular roguelikes such as Risk of Rain and Rogue Legacy. Each run nets you souls that you spend on a permanent upgrade tree to get better, and during each run there are several upgrade systems to get more powerful as you go along.

As it stands, the only weaknesses of this game is that it needs more content. That said - its incredibly cheap, and everything that is there is incredibly fun and well made. Its in early access so hopefully the developer will expand the content library over time, but even as it stands, its an amazing game. Well worth the price of entry.
