Barotrauma is a great game overall. It has great multiplayer elements, and the game has a very solid, friendly community. Created by the same people I believe that made SCP containment breach, this game also has the ability to invoke horror as well. In my play time I had been scared by the numerous creatures in the game, only to be comforted by other players alongside me in the submarine. This comfort is nothing but a mirage, as anything can go wrong at any moment, and when ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan I hope you and your crew are ready to deal.

As mentioned before it takes place on a submarine, with multiple players, or if your in single player, lots of AI companions. I will mention the single player first and I will say, this has to be the weakest part of the game overall. It just feels lonely, not in a creepy sense, but just boring and uneventful. You complete the same tasks and campaign related things as you would in multiplayer, although you can take control of the different people in order to fill the different roles.

Now the AI of your companions to put it bluntly, is absolutely abhorrent. They are unresponsive, glitch out in many instances, and will more often than not take a diving suit and just leave to kill something, for no reason. Overall I would say they are terrible, and make a bad first impression for anyone who plays single player first.

On the other hand, the AI of the creatures is great, they are highly mobile, have varied forms of attack, and can make for some scary foes to fight against in the deep. Their's also lots of different types of creatures as well, and they show up depending on what depth you are at. Creatures range from human sized monsters, to creatures that I would say invokes the feeling of absolute helplessness to put it lightly. This game also has an interesting world, being set on one of Jupier's moons I believe, and has various human factions ranging from mining corps, to a rebellion, or even a clown cult. depending on who you do missions for, will often react to who you make friends with.

There are about 6 roles in the game, each having their own specific jobs on the ship, skill sets, and crafting abilities.

The roles are Mechanic, which is the basic engineering class, mainly working with machinery. Electrician, who works on electrical and the ship's reactor. Medic, which is obviously the healing type class who keeps people healthy and alive. Security guard, who specializes in weapons, be it small arms, or gun turrets on the ship. Assistant, who is a jack of all trades master of none type, but is capable at learning all manner of skills at an accelerated pace. And finally Captain, the main organizer, leader, and pilot of the sub. All of these classes have special crafting recipes, skill trees, and abilities, so make sure to learn your favorite!

Overall I will now give my pros and cons on this game.

Pros:
- Amazing replay value
- Great community
- Awesome gameplay loop with diverse options
- Great enemies, and many different objectives to complete
- Complex, but not to challenging for new players, or veteran players
- Great alongside friends
- Still being actively developed constantly!

Cons:
- Absolutely horrendous human AI
- Can SOMETIMES crash on occasion, but only with mods, or if you have a weak system
- Sometimes physics can be a bit wonky or glitch out
- Can occasionally get stuck inside geometry, sometimes your sub can as well

Final thoughts are totally worth the purchase, sale or not. 8/10 I am looking forward to this game's future.
