Honestly, I am going to say I like 99.99% of this game.

The look is amazing, the UI is so barebones helping you be immersed in the experience. The map was great, I played a match and went 19k4d and it was awesome.

My only gripe is that movement has this weird bounce to it. A soldier does not move like they are made out of jello or rubber bands lmao. I never did, none others that I met ever did lol.

Idk, as I moved around and fired the weapon, it just felt so bouncy.

I am NOT saying this is a bad game, it is crazy cool!. I just really don't like that one aspect about it, and it is a very large aspect of the game.

With that said, not every game is for everyone, and if this is truly the intent of movement it might not be for me.

Movement aside, the game is dope as ♥♥♥♥!

Released way too early. Another instance of games "releasing" to the public in beta or early access and

The game is absolutely filled with annoyances. The amount of bugs in this game make it a horrible experience to play.

My hopes were quite high, and they were shattered, but that's on me.

The worst bug:
Sometimes, an object in your hand (gun, backpack) spins out of control and you cannot regain control of it.
Your best options here are storing the object (if you can) or abandoning it.

The worst is when your ammo is in your bag and your bag starts spinning uncontrollably and you can't even put it back on your back. Bye bye ammo!

This bug was known pre-release. I saw it in many streams and mentioned it in the discord. The response I received was something along the lines of bug priority not being based on severity, but being able to find and solve them. Fair i suppose. But this is very game breaking to be releasing with alone.

Movement:
The movement in this game is very annoying. If you are constantly moving forward, and turning with the controller or head it is great. The second you want to look around or maybe strafe, movement is interrupted significantly and you become very slow. Sometimes when I try to move forward and to the right, or forward and to the left, my character dominantly begins running more forward than to the side I desired.

Movement and terrain:
Another big problem for me was moving across some terrains. There's some hills where it felt as if a infant could crawl the grade of incline but your player will simply not move forward or slide down on it. It is very inconsistent, makes holding hills very hard not because the hills are very steep, but because aparently we are playing wearing roller skates from timmy's birthday party.

Cipping:
I absolutely hate this one. Clipping.
As I play this game, and little surface that I scratch with my body gets stuck and kills my movement. Even when its a wall that I am running down next to. I wish instead of that killing my movement, I could just hit the boundary and slide along it rather than dead stop all movement.

Collisions:
The opposite of clipping, sometimes I have experienced a LOT of trouble looting or managing hideout inventory because if you get too close to a cabinet or whatever object is at your feet, the game forcibly pushes you away as you try to reach closer to grab or place an object. Very annoying. I assume this is some system to prevent peeking through walls? but MAN. Disable it in the hideout.

ALSO on that note, the trade room door ALWAYS gets in my way and pushes me away. Super annoying. Just let me clip through. brother.

My hands. They get stuck inside everything!. If I am storing objects, my hand gets stuck inside shelves for example. Same happens when looting containers in the match. This is very annoying.

Aiming:
I have played my fair share of VRFPS games. Pavlov VR, Contractors, standout vr, and more. Aiming specifically feels kind of janky, reminds me 1000% of standoutVR or that other game they made that was supposed to be like battlefield. It's ok, very doable, but something feels off when I ADS in this game. It kind of feels like my view isnt quite right, and I always find myself raising the rear stock way up high. This is despite re-calibration.

Microphones:
- Both me and my friend muted our microphones. But we often had people in the match hearing what we said and responding to us. Great!

Initial inventory:
- For the love of god, I completely understand having players learn a mechanic, but can we have the initial load outs be auto placed in storage for us?

It is VERY tedious to put away your initial items. I felt like I was picking up a shift at Walmart stocking shelves, what the hell lol.

Tutorial videos:
- LOUD, they never shut up, and if you walk out of range and walk back in, they start over. Please reduce volume on these!
- LMG in tutorial lagged my screen to where it was just the game card and it said "waiting" for about 2 minutes.

Verdict:

I loved the thought of what this game stands for, and some things are done kind of right!. But not like this.

I might buy this again in about a year if it is not abandoned. If ya'll think a game in this state will ship on PSVR you are absolutely dreaming. Idk what checks sony does on a game, but if they literally just play the game for 15 minutes, it would be a massive no.

FAST PACE
PLAYS WELL
WANT MORE!

This game gives me metric tons of flashbacks to a game I used to enjoy called RIGS MCL on PSVR. RIP that game I loved it!

The precise level of control with your hands is so satisfying and is definitely improved in muscle memory!

Movement is teleport, would love fast free roam, but hey it works here!

This game has been very fun, hope to see maybe 3v3s, and most importantly, I would LOVE to see workshop support for custom arenas.

My brain yearns for changes in elevation on this game, whoa that would be a game changer.

My only complaint is that you have to remain clicked into the window to hear sound.

The #1 thing this game can do for content creation is work on a intelligent camera system that tracks the player and ball, and display that in different configurations for the player to choose. Such as splitscreen, picture in picture, etc...

My chat very much complained that it was nauseating to watch me play this, but I know in the headset it is one hell of an experience. Big picture intelligent tracking camera with small picture POV would probably be optimal

I look forward to hopefully more mechs and more fun!

Also movement seems to work well, but I am a fan of free movement instead of teleport.

Free moving mechs with 1 boost left or right, and 1 boost forward would be amazing by the way ;D

That was the movement in RIGS, pro players would intelligently chain a side boost, turn their body, and a forward boost for peak movement. played so fast paced.

An amazing experience and challenge.

I agree with others, go in blind as long as you can. Towards the end I definitely needed to check guides for some of the puzzles.

Boss fights are challenging, and very rewarding.

The soundtrack and game sounds are beautiful

Learn to time your actions, offense and defense not only one.

PLAY WITH CONTROLLER, I cannot emphasize how important I felt feedback from controller vibrations tie in nicely to the game and experience.

EXPLORE EXPLORE EXPLORE.

Worth every penny, and every minute!

I'm going to continue playing it because I love the VR Battle royale genere, but there's issues.

Index controllers CAN play the game, but it is definitely not optimized for them. You'll know as soon as you see those vive wand models guiding you to do things on a vive controller.

For one, I do feel like the movement is fantastic and building is definitely a new adjustment that I enjoy, my issue with this game is that it fails with the weapons.

There is no reason for a weapon that has a round in the chamber to be racked back because you swapped the magazine. This is firearms 101. Firearms cycle by the same explosion inside the chamber that propels the projectile forward. It is infuriating to try a more intelligent reload early only to be cucked by the gun needing to be racked. Literally, fire a single shot, and swap the mag. It won't shoot until you rack it again.

My other issue with the weapons is reloading. It's a bit odd to reload a gun by sliding the same magazine out then back in. Though, because not every game can be pavlov with their reloading system, I get taking an easier approach and can live with this after some adjustment. But reloading seems so easy and brain dead. One thing I can't quite explain is that the gunplay feels a bit off. It doesn't feel real or satisfying. Now, I am not looking for Onward level realism, but I feel like even recroom has better control of their paintball guns than these (and yes I did hold with two hands).

Currently, there is a glitch with climbing certain structures where if you climb too fast, the game gets confused and throws you under the map. It's not pleasant when you are trying to make haste.

Outside of this, the maps are nice, glass mechanics are cool (mechanics not physics), flying is a ton of fun. I've gotten some good wins as well. I like the inventory system, weapon quick swap and revives as well.

Overall with my experience in playing first person shooters, if they fixed the reloading and revised the weapon handling a bit, this would be better. that said, I've yet to see a battle royale of this quality make it in VR long term. I hope updates keep this one alive, but nontheless, I paid for my copy as I wish to see VR succeed.

Played this with about 5 friends at the same time. Wow it was so much fun, we had a blast with the cast and enjoying the story as written. Cannot wait for chapter 3!

(If you plan on streaming this game check PSA at end of review)

I was very surprised to see this come to VR!. Years ago, I remember playing Republique on my iPhone, as this game was available as a mobile game. (Not a bad one, it was not a microtransaction type of game, it has an amazing story!) This is a 3rd person point movement puzzle game. You aren't quite the main character, but a hacker helping the main character.

I am shocked at how well this plays in VR! The concept of viewing from the camera angles just works SO WELL in VR (Definitely play seated). I think this was what made this experience the most enjoyable for me. It definitely feels like a game that belongs in VR and not a game that was just ported for money.

Visually, the game looks very good (from a graphics quality standpoint) and I must say, using the cellphone as a means to display cutscenes was a fantastic idea!. If you've ever tried to watch 360 shows or music videos you'll know what I mean. It's so annoying to be placed in the middle of all the action and keep turning around all the time to keep up with the story. That is NOT AN ISSUE in this game. The camera point of views paired with this cutscene implementation really kept me involved with the story.

There was an option to do joystick movement as well (as opposed to point ant click). While I really appreciated this addition, I found it to be a bit odd in usage. This game was originally designed for point and click. I can definitely say it is a much more enjoyable experience playing it as such.

Now, I do disagree with the style of saving in this game. But this is not exclusive to the VR version, it's how the game has been. You can easily find save rooms, but, in order to save you have to first find video tapes and can only use them once each to save your progress.

I purchased this game today, popped in a 4 hour session, and when a friend asked to play something with me, I had to either give up A LOT of progress(not all 4 hours, but about 25 mins worth), or, look for a video tape. This was so dumb, it took me forever but I eventually I found one and was able to save.

Overall, this game is a fantastic buy, especially at $10. I guarantee that the story is there. The gameplay is definitely different, but was implemented VERY WELL for VR

Streamer PSA:
- The game will auto close/go away from your desktop if the mouse leaves & clicks anything outside of it. This can be a problem for streamers using OVR drop or similar tools for chat. I was able to stop this by simply disabling input from OVR drop. Then I was able to read chat without any issues and without the window going away. Not sure how to do this in ovrtoolkit as I use drop, butt here is how on drop: (Additional settings->Mouse Settings-> VR Click API "none") Hope it helps!

Such a beautiful game. So much potential, after being away for a long time I return to see that the story mode has not progressed, but has actually been reversed.

This game would be SO BEAUTIFUL as an MMORPG or Open world style.I can dream I suppose
