I HIGHLY recommend this game for all puzzle game fans. It is one of my favorite puzzle games ever at a super reasonable price. The voxel art is not my favorite and sometimes the game was laggy despite its super simple graphic style, but the puzzles were well worth that.

This is a masterpiece. The gameplay is perfectly balanced, having multiple viable strategies with each character, always feeling tough but fair. As someone who likes card games and roguelites, this was a no brainer.

Simply one of the best puzzle games ever made. Ultra tough but fair. Despite simple controls and simple goals, you discover new interesting puzzle mechanics deep into the game.

Clunky controls. Long and frequent load times (when dying). Boring generic gameplay. Feels like a bad version of INSIDE.

Extremely beautiful and very moving little puzzle game. It was short and not too difficult but absolutely worth it for the experience.

There is a lot to love about Ori. A couple of the more unique platforming mechanics are really interesting and fun, the story is great and the art is gorgeous. Frequently (though not always), the platforming puzzles and challenges are super fun and feel rewarding.

Unfortunately, I think the bad cancels out all the good. The controls and platforming in the game are much more physics based than a traditional platformer, giving you less control in the air and to me feeling kind of sluggish (this is probably up to personal taste though). The various elements of the environment are frequently unclear because the screen is so busy. The level design and geometry of levels has at various points made me get stuck where I wasn't supposed to or made jumps seem possible or impossible when they were meant to be the opposite.

The enemy design is about half great and half terrible. The first enemy you encounter is this dumb blob that shoots three projectiles and is annoying to fight rather than fun, but that enemy is probably the most common enemy in the game. The annoying enemies wouldn't be so bad if combat didn't take way too long. You do tiny amounts of poke damage that requires you to get close to enemies but not too close because then you can't dosge their very fast moving projectiles! It makes for a tiring dance that has to repeat for every single enemy. Alternatively you could waste a save by using a charge attack that doesn't even one-shot most of the enemies.

Upgrade system is BLAH. I mostly upgraded to alleviate the things I didn't like like limited saves and having to collect experience when it falls out of enemies. Mostly I felt like upgrades had no impact until triple jump.

The metroidvania style results in both an annoying antiquated save system (this game would be way better with frequent checkpoints) and the possibility to get lost and be confused where to go next. Not to mention, death is a true restart from your last save, meaning you have to face all the annoying enemies you already beat all over again, you lose any experience or power-ups you gained, and you have to watch all the cutscenes over again. God help you if you save right before a cutscene and then die several times.

If the game were a straight platformer with checkpoints, and faster platformy enemy combat (like jumping an an enemy kills it) I would have liked it a LOT better. As it is, I am glad I have played it, but I cannot possibly recommend it to anyone.

Excellent little puzzle game. It is not super well explained how the logic puzzle works, but once you break through that you will get an enjoyable few hours out of this game that you won't regret for the price.
