Honestly, I love the game, it's one of the best games I've ever played. But it's too expensive. Basic game w/o any DLC is not even a tutorial, there's maybe 10% of game mechanics overall. AND IT COSTS $45. 1 DLC is around $20-25, you need at least 6-7 i you want to experience a fun and full off mechanics gameplay (but if you are playing in America, India or Africa you need specific DLCs for the region XDDDDDDD).

Honestly, unless you get whole bundle of EU4 with all DLCs for ~$50 dont bother and just crack the ♥♥♥♥ out of this game. It's like buying The Sims, it's just wrong and totally not worth it. Also Paradox = EA.

Edit: They added monthly subscription for ~$4, which contains all DLCs and base game, worth as ♥♥♥♥ imo, I dont play it constantly, I usually spend a week playing it, 1-2 campaigns and then leave it for 3 months. Changing my review from negative to positive.

Edit2: As of February they changed the subscription's price to ~$9, which makes it absolutely not worth it. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you paradox, I hope you burn in hell.

The comparison to The Sims is certainly fitting. The worst part is the main game is already expensive indeed but in order to get those few extra buttons and bits of flavour you need to make the game playable, you need to pay 20 for each set of three necessary buttons or something on the same level. Except for things like the total cost of Train Simulator (though to be honest, each expansion pack contains far more than PDX's expansion packs for the same price), this is the worst business model I've seen.
