Subnautica has some serious DEPTH. hehe get it???

But seriously the amount of content and detail with everything in Subnautica's underwater world is beyond what most would believe. This is in part to the game's release during the half-baked survival game boom and another part because of it's cartoonish graphics but both of these things are very deceptive. Alot of these deceptions I bought into and BOY was I wrong.

The truth is that the game is bristling with lore and bizarre creatures that are slowly unveiled as you expand to survive and uncover the mysteries around you. The atmosphere in each of it's distinct biomes contrast significantly and offer varying types of difficulties and challenges for players. Personally, my favorite aspect of the game was the progression as you learn more about and adapt to the hostile environment around you. Also, the story can keep you pretty engaged throughout your journey and even the horror was a nice touch too despite my thalassophobia.

If you enjoy survival and exploration games or just want another experience that's going to suck you in for a few weeks you have stumbled upon a goldmine for both of those things. I envy those of you that take the plunge for the first time. Have fun!
