Early Access Review
I would like to say if you love tycoon games like me this is a must try, It may not be perfect yet but its a fun experience once you work through the early access quirks!

This game is a very solid start to a phenomenal tycoon experience. HOWEVER it is just that, a good start. It needs a fair amount of balance and polish. I totally understand the mixed reviews however I believe it could be very easily solved. The dev's are active and have released patches and bug fixes in response to community feedback. This game isn't unplayable in any way shape or form, I have a 5800x and a 3070, and I have had little to no performance issues (Game crashed once in 21hrs).

I have had a blast failing repeatedly at starting a movie studio, there is some suggestions I would make as it can be rough trying to start a studio. Mainly because sometimes you as good as soft lock your ability to progress with "poor" research choices. However with no real explanation as to what is causing you to fail it can be frustrating for people. Which has in turn seems to have lead to some negative reviews.

MY TIPS,

YOU NEED MARKETING ASAP!!! This should be the first thing that you start researching, otherwise you are almost guaranteed to make a loss on every project regardless of the the quality of the movie.

YOU NEED TO GET GIFTS!!!! Giving gifts increases the happiness of your employees, When they are happy they make better movies. This is one of the only/few reliable ways of maintaining early game happiness.

There needs to be more balance and polish to the happiness system. I don't want to have to throw stuff at people to make them happy. There needs to be more events that feed into the happiness of your employees. Rather than give them loads of gifts, You should be able to speak to them. Stuff like car and driver and medical insurance should account to the happiness of your employees. Maybe you could throw a big party at your studio to boost happiness of all employees at once. You could build trailers on the lot so your actors have a place to make their own and therefore loose happiness slower or gain little happiness over time when not on an active movie project.

Research can unlock happiness for an employee on hiring and movie releases. I say this as a player obviously and not a Dev. Maybe what I have said is in the game but I haven't found it yet or it isn't communicated to the player.

This game could benefit from a choice of difficulty settings as once the above hurdles are dealt with it relatively smooth sailing and the game becomes a lot more streamlined. A Casual and Challenging setting where maintenance costs more, actors cost more, building cost more, research is slower, events are more common, etc. To add a bit more challenge

It seems as though there are a lot of good ideas and good systems that play separately from one another. Provided they can be sown into one another they will create a much more cohesive experience for the player.

Thank you Sony for eating your humble pie. Back to stomping bugs and disassembling robots in the name of democracy!

Wait Before You Buy!

Grey Zone It is quite frankly a mess. Poor optimisation, Network errors all over the place.

With another year maybe two of content and fixes this game has alot of potencial, The systems in place are a nice new twist on the extraction shooter genre. That combined with the gun customisation and inventory being very fluid and intuitive for any person with experience in this genre.

Now for the bad, To start with there's no tutorial for a new players, for a new player who doesn't have much experience with games of a similar vein this would be a nightmare. I have to imagine most of them would not understand what is going within game. For those people who aren't familiar with this style of game, it wont be a very enjoyable experience.

However my actual experience of the game, It took 40+ mins of trouble shooting to get me and my friend in the same game. This was due to repeated network errors. There is no explanation as to how the player transport system works. Helicopters fly in and land and you can request pickups through the map from either your teams FOB or a specified LZ in game.
For a game where real money translates to in game currency through its (Tier'd) purchasing structure. You would hope that network errors kicking you out of games were a rarity however from mine and my friends experience it isn't. This will absolutely ruin your experience. In my case I was outside of the "Safe zone/ FOB" so on my first outing with the game, I get kicked for a network error and lose my first load out without firing a shot. Man what a captivating experience.

For anyone defending this because its "Early access" If you have an in game currency that can be purchased its unacceptable to have these kind of issues. If your game has this functionality then its simple. You require thorough beta testing prior to its release. If the game released as a true early access experience without the tier'd purchase list then I believe this may have seen people be more merciful when reviewing. However when you release into early access with a tier'd system it should be the standard that the game is at least playable for the majority.

For me this is yet another game that requires me to come back and see if it'll make good on its premise. If it keeps receiving updates after its very mixed reception that'll be a good start. This game has a way to go. However I would love to be proven wrong. I hope the developers continue to build the experience and the community gives it a second chance.
That being said, unless you are a die hard fan of extraction shooters. I'd wait for other people to test the game and buy it in a year when it has had most of the issues resolved, At which point it'll be worth the sticker price.

I am not a fan of the map design in this game. It feels very samey on all the maps. Air vehicles are insanely powerful with a good pilot behind the controls. Especially the Heli's You wont be able to shoot one down in my experience, This make the experience very frustrating all round as it feels like there's no point running AA gear as they'll just pop flairs and then cant be targeted. When a good player gets a Heli, its over. Leaving spawn becomes an achievement. I truly wanted this game to be a good old battlefield but its honestly just not.

As someone who doesn't religiously play this game prepare to be battered 90% of your games. Wiggle is a meaningless mechanic.

This is a brilliant example of how companies play by a different rule set to the average consumer. Advertises and sells a product (DLC 2), Doesn't deliver said product. Yet no repercussions for the games developer and publisher. and no refund to consumers. Please don't buy this game (Not even on sale), vote with your wallet and let ♥♥♥♥♥♥ business practices die.

Great game, worthy successor to COH 1. This game is still updated and mods provide an ever-changing RTS experience.
