Thank you very much for playing Hollywood Animal! We appreciate your feedback and we’re working hard to address as many issues as humanly possible, as fast as we can.

Here are some of the things from this update, as well as a few words about our plans for the coming days.


- Fixed a serious problem that would cause a movie to get stuck in various stages of filmmaking.
- Fixed a problem that could freeze the game on an empty release popup.
- Fixed a problem that could cause the game to show you an empty hiring screen.
- Fixed a problem that could cause the game to get stuck during the Policies introduction.
- Fixed a problem that could freeze the game when you interact with the Pollux nominations popup.
- Fixed a problem that could freeze time due to a glitch in the windows queue.
- Dead screenwriters can’t write scripts anymore.
- And a bunch of smaller fixes like a missing story element icon.




We made a number of tweaks that made the game less unforgiving.

- Utilities now cost about 50% less
- General staff now costs about 20% less
- Reduced time for some upgrades
- Using your own sound studio, concert hall, and printing office in post production costs $0 (because if you have them, you’re already paying for them)
- You start the game with $7.6 million


Unfortunately, most of the changes, including major bugfixes, are only applicable to the new game and cannot be applied to save files. So, if you’ve faced significant issues, we ask that you start a new run.



In addition to further bugfixes and balance improvements, we are currently working on the following features:

- Animations of production screens and negotiations will speed up significantly after multiple plays. Also you’ll be able to extend contracts with executives without using the negotiations screen.

- You’ll be able to skip the tutorial.

- When you for whatever reason lose your department head, the department upgrade will be paused instead of cancelled.
