After a year of being EGS exclusive and some hyping from discord friends, I finally decided to play Hades. There's no denying that Supergiant is one of the best there is in the industry. Their games are always innovative, their artstyles are memorable, and their scores are all classics. Hades is their take on rougelike genre with not unexpected, yet surprising, excellent result

And so, I'm not going to talk about gameplay, artstyles, or music at all. What is there to say? It's Supergiant's. Have you play Bastion, Transistor, or Pyre? If you have, then you know what to expect. If not, then I recommend you to

What surprise me is the story. Most rougelike games have a bare minimum context for a story. Not Hades
The way Hades implement restart cycle into the story make it very compelling one
Death is not a setback. It's the narrative and it motivates you to fight on to that promised escape
Without spoilers, it helps making the game feel fresh even after so many hour, possibly longer than others of its genre

Your only goal is to be the most bloodthirsty walking meaty war machine, which only purpose is to kill and kill and never pay any attention to the objective, all to fuel your desire for more coins (and to cosplay as a knight version of some other popular game title's characters)
There is no honor nor warrior code, there's only team kill and tantrum throwing in chatbox

Gameplay
It is very smooth and responsive. There is a feeling of weigh and impact in every swing which could result in either you or your adversary's demise. The swordplay is in-depth and there are many mechanics to master, which admittedly, I have yet to. The learning curve is very high. You can, of course, choose to spam attack like a monkey, but it will drain your stamina really fast and leave you defenseless, so timing your strike is advised.
Or just pack firebombs and burn everything.

My Friend Pedro brought back a sense of simple joy of the flash game in the good ol' day, with a more shine and polish.

Pro:
+Good challenging fun shooter
+Fluid movement
+Watching bullets fly in slow-mo never gets old
+Cool Stylized cartoon violence
+Fantastic level design that encourage you to do cool things
+Synth-inspired soundtracks that compliment the visual destruction that you caused

Con:
-A bit weak in story, even if that wasn't a main point, but it could have been more.
-Short selection of levels. Tightly designed, but too few.
-1 boss fight felt like you are just taking turn shooting at each other. A drag, with out much movement involved.

Extra
At the end of level, it has this highlight moment that show off your best move in that level, that you can save as gif or tweet it. I wish more game has this system.

Conclusion: A cheap but high quality indie I come to expect from Devolver Digital. Easily join the rank of action-murder game like Hotline Miami and Ruiner. Highly recommended

Gameplay:
Ease for a newcomer, but will still satisfy the those who play this before, with added twist to the formula with Nero's new gadget-y arms, Dante's new toys, and the newcomer, V.
Art:
Sublime. While opt for more realistic look, the casts and demons are wonderfully animated. The effects are detailed and pretty to look at(the cracked mirror at the health bar even reflect the screen!). Killer lightning effect without being a explosive diarrhea for eye(like Destiny and Anthem)
Story:
Story itself is actually pretty short, but felt longer due to having 3 main to play as and what is there is very well written. It felt like a proper sequel than 4 that act like a "mid-quel", and actually paid off that one too. The tone avoid being too melodramatic like 4 was and instead made everyone very likable rather than having Dante carry the show alone. The story team also added some elements from old DMC's novel and anime too, so that a bonus to those care.
Extra:
I wish we could play as other characters like Trish and Lady. Hope they will be add later on as a DLC.

For the 1st time with this series, I've only one negative thing to say:

THE CALL OF DUTY :WW2 SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. PLEASE TRIED AGAIN LATER OR VISI

I have only around 200 hrs of actual played time. The excesses were from corrupted or abandoned save files and mod testing. Previously, my negative review was based on my experience during a free-weekend and did not represented the whole game. It was also extremely ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

In short

I'm still right.

From the thrilling, mystery-filled story to the unique gameplay, Alan Wake is one of my favourite games of all time. I played it before on xbox but when I play it again on pc, it still fun. Totally recommend it.
