Just for the soundtrack alone, it's worth the price of admission. Such a beautiful mix of 80's and 90's LucasArts and sierra point and click games but modernized and a damn good top down space trader on top of it.

Good game with lots of content. But if you REALLY care about PVP and not willing to spend money, don't bother. It is VERY P2W.

** LINUX REVIEW **

This review is as much for CDPR as it is for Valve. Running this game on Linux, all credit to Valve for that feat. After installing mesa-git packages and latest proton the game actually runs pretty damn good. With more proton and mesa updates the game could possibly run near native performance.

As for the game itself. It's very beautiful. The story so far has kept me interested, while the characters themselves have a personality of their own and make you want to get to know about them more.

Gameplay regarding gunplay, hacking etc. is standard, been there done that. Nothing to write home about. The stealth feels a bit clunky. But perhaps with better perks and mods it might improve.

There are definitely bugs. NPCs clipping through each other and they don't seem to have much life to them. No music outside of cutscenes or mission work. Such as car radio or in bars and NPCs speech isn't heard. This is a linux issue, not on windows. Also enemy gunfire sound also doesn't work.

Overall, if you have a decent rig and looking to play on linux, you NEED the mesa-git packages and this will be playable. It's quite fun with seemingly lots to do. As more updates from CDPR and Valve come out, it can only get better.

Every once in a while a game shows up that the concept is real simple, but sucks you in and you can't wait to see more. Plus the price point is VERY fair.

Definitely a good buy. Idea behind this game is instead of running and jumping being a main mechanic in a platformer, you use different polarities to attact or repel magnets throughout the levels. Once you've got the controls down, this game is loads of fun. I can't speak to mouse or keyboard controls, but with an xbox 360 controller the controls are simple and very fluid.

I played this game before the first one (I know, I know) around the time that it came out, but I remember after completing it that the story was so good that it stuck with me. I read many times over that the first is way better and that this one is nowhere near as good, but having just played this as reference alone, I really enjoyed the adventure FunCom took me on.

I tend to really be biased toward Funcom as their story telling is IMO the best in the business.

Definitely need to replay through the series and can't wait for Red Thread to come out with the sequel.

While it's now not even near worth the $20 that it's selling for, it's definitely worth it when it goes on sale.

Definitely a good game. It has held my attention for the most part. As it stands right now there's obvious issues as it's an alpha. The current issues I've ran into so far are as follows:

The AI has some pretty bad pathfinding. They can get stuck on something as small as a mound of dirt. Which makes you have to keep an eye on them during escort missions where you've ran for 10-15 mins only to realize when you get to your destination that the person you're escorting got stuck half way back. You're able to have two companions where if they get too far behind they'll teleport next to you. This needs to happen to escorted NPCs as well.

There's many different ways to travel, however I've only made a car. While fun and all, they damage very easily. This may be because it's a starting car I made but the damage accumulated way too fast. I was only able to drive for 2 mins tops in the forest area before the car blew up. Every small mound I went over made the car take damage. Also I found that the cars handling needs a fair amount of tweaking.

I've only just got past the kill the layerback (whetever they're called) mission. That's where I hit my first roadblock as the quest was either unintentionally unfair or bugged as you're supposed to escort 2 survivors to kill the layerbacks. The one guard NPC always rushes in to melee them only to die and fail the mission. I must have tried the mission literally 30 times, before I just built a wall around him out of harms way and only then could I finish the mission. They need to certainly fix that as it's more than just a minor annoyance.

All in all this game has certain potential to be really good. If you can deal with it's quirks as alpha goes along, there's definitely a lot of fun to be had. Also the fact that you can build you're own cars, vtols and weapons with pre made parts then add voxels to add your own touch to it is really cool.

While I don't think in it's alpha state the price is justified, it will be worth it at full release.

It's MYST! The grandfather of point and click adventure puzzle games. Cyan ability to create amazing worlds and puzzles never gets old. Definitely should try this if you've never played it. Then move on to the sequels.

This game especially the original Myst is a piece of history.

Anyone who enjoys puzzles that give your brain a workout should be in for a treat.
