Factorio makes me feel like I'm playing as the Adeptus Mechanicus from the 40k universe.
Not because of the Tyranid-like enemies or the interplanetary travel or even the overreliance on technology.
No. It's because after a dozen hours of playing on the same map, I slowly begin to lose my understanding on how my factory actually works.
Where does this conveyor belt go? Are these wires actually live? Is everything powered by my hopes and dreams? Or the tormented souls of the xeno-scum that I'm crushing underfoot?
I have no idea.
So every time I want to add, remove or change something. I have to say a quick prayer to the Machine-God, just to be safe.
I think this is how organised religion started.
