The DLC builds on the base game extremely well. The story is great, the puzzles are appropriately difficult, the setting is gorgeous. I only wish for more content like this.

Talos Principle 2 follows in the footsteps of its masterpiece first installment and builds upon an established world and beyond. There's a lot of dialog but all of it interesting. Some choices do matter for a final ending permutation and you can feel the world shaping around you by your actions.

Gameplay wise, the puzzles are original, bring many new mechanics but never convolute a solution too much, overall it feels easier than Talos Principle 1. The weakest part is in my opinion the secret puzzles (stars). They come in three variants: 1. Ingenious - sneaky objectives that requires some map exploration to solve. 2. Pixel hunting - you probably realize the solution but have to walk through the entire map and look at every single possible angle to find a hidden beam somewhere (looking at you, West 2) and 3. Tedious & boring chases by your boi Prometheus.

Story is great and I'd give it a 10/10 to have existential crisis again.

10/10, would spend 60€ to end life long friendships with my teammates again.

Took us little bit short of 100 hours but boy have we had a (eldritch) blast.

"Huh, a time-constrained game. Surely this will not become a time sink and will not go to sleep at 3 AM on a Tuesday".

I've been following the Hyperbolica project since its announcement so buying and playing this was a nobrainer for me.

I've enjoyed this short experience (a little bit around 90 minutes to complete), and looking at the available achievements, chances are I'm going to come back to hunt the rest, possibly in VR. As a math nerd, game taking place in hyperbolic world was certainly entertaining and possibly even educational.

That being said, Hyperbolica is a still more of a short tech demo, rather than a full game. "quests" are not really visible and discerning between important NPCs and those that merely provide flavor text is impossible, but there's only so many of characters you can interact with. None of the conversations were particular noteworthy, except the snow world questline, which was fun, but the snowball fight was immensely frustrating.

During the final boss, at first I died without knowing why (hard to orientate yourself) and the then beat it by cheesing it without any real skill involved.

Final words: I've still enjoyed this and will be looking forward to more projects by CodeParade, Hyperbolica related or not. However the price tag is rather high for its length, but I'm glad I could support the creator.

This is the second game Amazon Games published in 6 months that made me appreciate World of Warcraft, despite its own share of problems.
