There are a few handful of games that really ♥♥♥♥ with your sense of time.
This game, is the boss for this category.
Why?

Complex but amazing base building mechanics, witnessing your colonists' social lives unfold, defending your base from all types of threats, doing ALOT of various things to create profit for resources, and so, so much more.

Not to mention you'll be using mods sooner or later, right from the Steam Workshop.
It's still worth it even at full price, you won't regret it.

I played DMC3, DMC1, and DMC4 prior to this, and honestly? This is the best iteration of the Devil May Cry formula.
Thing is with the other DMC games, they were mostly "60% Combat, 40% Adventure/Backtracking", which can be annoying at times, especially knowing DMC was originally a RE spinoff. But now they cut all of that fat and made the game PURE combat only, which not only amazing, but it's also amplified when you play as Vergil (when you get him as a DLC).

With that, the game itself also learns from the mishaps DMC4 had with Dante (it was pure backtracking), and now the entire campaign is one story with varying perspectives, with levels that are designed for their respective characters this time.

Plus, the combat has some amazing quality of life stuff for long time DMC fans, both for fans of Nero, Dante, and Vergil. Nero has these cool robot arms with different functions, both base and charged. Dante's 4 styles have been tweaked for better play, like Royal Guard being more lenient with timing. And Vergil lets you use a clone doppelganger for your base DT.

The game's so addicting that my 200 hour friend said that he can slap in 1000 more hours on this game. To sum it up, if you want to get really good in a Devil May Cry game, make it this one. It's made for pure replayability after all.

Honestly, for me this is one of my favourite rogue-like games for this year, aside from Risk of Rain 2.
The great thing about the gameplay is that, you get in a room, slay all enemies inside, then get the rewards after that. What comes after that are your choices for the doors, indicating your next reward. These range from Max HP increase, interesting upgrades for your weapons, mods for your character, and so on. Sometimes there will also be treasure chests that offer you a challenge (it either goes to slaying all or surviving for 45 seconds straight), then giving you a reward after. The variance is very bountiful, and I can expect it to not run out even in my later playthroughs.

The one other aspect about this game that has drawn me in to the first place is story. Having Greek mythology as the basis for your games, having the script up to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 300K words (google it up, seriously), and a majority of it being voiced, with gods responding to what you've done recently. It uses death in rogue-likes as a way to drip feed small, but very varied dialogue that rarely repeats. It's amazing stuff, even for someone like me who hasn't even delved deep much into Greek Mythology as a whole.

For a full price, you should buy this. It's worth it.

Worth it just for DMC3 alone.
DMC1 is a good addition, but we don't talk about DMC2.

Anyways, DMC3 is the pure foundation in which DMC4 and DMC5 were built upon later down the road.
DMC3 is the best starter for anyone who wants to get into Devil May Cry. Good story, good gameplay, and it already has Vergil playable after the main campaign.
Just make sure you bring a gamepad with you, though.

For heads up, here are my specs.
1366 x 768 monitor
i3-6100 @ 3.70 GHz
Radeon RX 570 4GB
16 GB RAM.
I played the first part of the game on very low settings, thinking I'd stutter like hell.
I forgot that this exact rig stands strong under PS4/XBOX One era games, like RE2 Remake, Mad Max, and so on. This game is no exception.
Besides parts of Kamurocho, my game runs so freely on 60 FPS at mostly high settings. Sotenbori is very optimized though, giving me constant 60 FPS. It feels like most of the game just relies on your graphics card, so you shouldn't worry too much.

Reminder, as of the moment I am almost at the end of this game's story, and I haven't gone through "Majima Saga" yet, which is apparently a completely new addition for this game's remake.

Besides, this game is just pure amazing. As I've heard, this is a complete remake of the second Yakuza game. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, some of the substories just make me wonder if this is brand new content or just from the original, because the writing both in main stories and in substories are THAT good.

Plus, the combat feels amazing, and especially the way how you upgrade Kiryu's abilities. You can actually choose which moves or stats you can improve, at your own pace, and in any order as well. Compared to 0 or Kiwami 1, you feel alot better fighting in crowds, because of how Kiryu has also different types of heavy attacks if you look back before the said heavy attack. The Tiger Drop is also in this game, but it isn't really that busted. However, it is REALLY good with the ragdoll physics system, which is another new feature in this game.

Like awhile ago, the graphics run well, and they also look great too. It just gives Kamurocho and Sotenbori alot of life when they started doing those neon reflections on the floors.

The music sounds and feels great, they always get you hyped up in boss fights as well. Just wished they were on Spotify.

Anyways, can't wait for the rest of the Yakuza games to be on PC as well! Hope SEGA and RGG still keeps on trucking.

I thought DooM Eternal was pretty hyper in action.
I was wrong. This game stands shoulder-to-shoulder with that giant.

New Blood Interactive surprises me yet again. Can't wait to see this be finished, and with Gloomwood as well.

EDIT: At this point, New Blood Interactive as a publisher isn't just "merely" copying what was great with the games it was inspired by.
They let their games be taken to the next level. That's how good NBI and the devs under it are.

This game did not deserve to pit itself against COD and Battlefield during the time when BF1 was released.
But this game truly deserves its spot to be on Steam, for everyone to see how great it is. This game is a miracle, considering EA publishes this game.

If I were to describe this game mechanically, imagine Quake's long lost cousin. Bunnyhopping, air-strafing, even grappling, they're all there. It's no surprise that a game based on Source Engine has these mechanics, and it fits the game perfectly.

Even if there's cool mobility to be seen in this game, you cannot forget the Titans, the famous mechs you embark both in singleplayer and multiplayer. Tanked beasts that fall down directly from the sky at your command, grabbing you to let you in the cockpit.

I've played a good bit of multiplayer and it still puts me into full matches, and I am happy about that. This game needs a second chance with the entire Steam community.

Shadow Tactics made me fall in love with stealth RTS.
This further enhanced my addiction even further.
3 hours in and I just love every single bit of it. Better hope these guys also start working on more Stealth RTS games out there. They're right at home with this gig.

Oh yeah, I edited this review for one more thing.
This game has a demo, and it explains the game better than I do, or even most reviews here.

More power to devs allowing demos to be popular once more.

To give you context: I am more of a FPS guy, not really into RTS games. However, I had alot of fun playing this game.
You have 9 missions, but if you're new to the genre or to this game, each mission can take you 1.5 hours. They get more difficult, but even more satisfying to pull off. When you learn of a strategy you can use to take down three people without sounding an alarm, and even execute it beautifully, you will never get a feeling like that.

Honestly? Thanks to this, I am looking forward to more RTS stealth games like these, especially the upcoming Desperados III.

My first Resident Evil game, and it has been a massive blast. One amazing thing about this game is that its artstyle still holds up, even if it was released in 2005. It heavily leans more into the action though, but it's still a little serious with the resource management.

Thing is, action and clunky controls don't blend well together. Leon Kennedy in this game cannot strafe at all, meaning your A and D keys are for turning only. When you aim, you cannot move, only point your mouse. Good thing the enemies here have different reactions to being hit in different limbs, especially and most importantly the head or knees. These let you roundhouse kick or even suplex them. Thankfully I still got used to the controls quickly, and it became smooth sailing from there.

The game takes you to different settings as you go through the chapters, so each major location you go through feels really unique. One thing that stays constant though, is that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome merchant who seems to pop up in a corner, letting you get the gear you need. He even thanks you for buying too, be grateful.

This game will be a massive blast for you to play when you get it, trust me.
