Final Fantasy VII is my favorite videogame of all time. That being said, playing Rebirth for the first time on PS5 was an unforgettable experience and an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. Needless to say, playing it for the first time on PC was also an unforgettable experience. This port is one of Square Enix's best ports and while it still has issues that can be mitigated with modding, it is overall really impressive.

I did everything this game has to offer and aside from being taken out of the main plot for Zack story beats, forced walking slowdowns, box throwing and the couple spouts of mini-game burnout, it is an absolute masterpiece in storytelling, music, characters, game direction and so much more. I had to go see the soundtrack performed live by an orchestra in Montreal. That is how incredible the sound of FFVII Rebirth truly is.

If you are a fan of the original game or have just come off of Remake, this game is going to give you a whirlwind of emotions. The way the dynamic music knows exactly how to tug at your nostalgia or transition the tone is just outstanding. Characters interact so much more and on a deeper level then the first entry in the remake trilogy. The world map is amazing and has such a good but not overbearing variety of area's to explore. It is genuinely fun to complete side content and it actively enhances the playthrough.

I urge you, if you're new to this franchise.. play the original game and watch Advent Children (and maybe follow that up with Crisis Core). After you do this, have a fun time with FFVII: Remake and then dive into this game. It is genuinely one of the best I have ever played as a big fan of Final Fantasy and this wonderful cast of characters. I can't recommend Rebirth enough as in terms of a piece of media, it is a miracle.
