This game could be a good game, emphasis on could. Before I continue, I want to say I don't at all support or condone the harassment of employees of the company, BUT I also believe that making a terrible economy change is definitely ground for reviews like those that have occurred in the last week.. I've had some personal interaction with their customer service and all that and they seem like great people, but with the current state of the game, I would recommend it to no one. I am on the lighter side of gameplay, with a little over 900 hours. I have played since about 2019, on and off, but have upped my hours a lot in the last couple months. I have grinded through three tech trees in ground and two in air. So, why recommend the game badly then?

The new economy changes, which they are only going to do something about because they got nuked with feedback (I wonder why anyone would be upset with unfoldering and various other absolute BS changes after the grind on this game is nightmarish enough) were complete and total buns. It's comparable to Netflix pumping out more of its stupid rules and services. For a game with a grinding curve that could make a good example of an exponential function in mathematics, IT DID NOT need yet another economy change. Sure, they're changing things back, but it's not because they listen to feedback, it's because their profits are going to be impacted by the mass of users who are RIGHTFULLY stating their complaints against the blatant crap they put out.

I enjoy this game with friends sometimes, but the solo experience is a nightmare, without premium time, the grind is painfully hard, especially with how much RP is needed. Single modifications in top tier vehicles average at about 23k or so in tier 4. Premium time and vehicles are practically a necessity to actually get some enjoyment out of the grind. I wonder sometimes how a company like Gaijin can make an economy change like this, new players, and even more veteran ones aren't going to like it. It blatantly DISCOURAGES new players. If their vehicles are in the hangar and they can't afford a repair and don't want to spend real hard earned money on it, their only option is to sit there for days on end waiting for it to repair itself. I've had varying opinions on repair costs, but the changes they rolled out really sunk it, it made them have a much heavier effect than they had before. For a company that at one point promised to have no rank V or above premiums, this sure is a turnaround. I understand wanting to make revenue, and I don't even think premiums past Rank V are an entirely bad thing, but they have made it almost wholly necessary to own one to grind.

It used to be possible to F2P the game, but now is nearly impossible. One of my friends sunk almost 80 hours in without premium time or vehicles only to get to about 6.3 in America. We all know what 6.7 brings for any tech tree, it's an exemplification of the previously mentioned grind. This game is not appealing as it was, especially to new players.

I find the response to the review bombing as laughable, they screwed up, switched it, and tried to sound pious while doing so and CALLING the people who bombed the reviews out and saying it's unacceptable. None of them listen to the forums, that's a well known and established fact. They rarely listen to CC's, and when they do, they take the worst possible takes that NO ONE else wants. Perhaps I am overextending, but it is very frustrating, especially having sunk as much time into this as I did. I wouldn't even consider what happened a bombing of the reviews. Everyone was completely right in what they said and did. I support it completely.

I would only ever consider changing this review if Gaijin owned up to their actions and began to fix major problems in the game, aside from the grind and dogwater economy changes, the balancing issues in top tier air and all around ground. If they were able to consistently show they could do that, this game would be wonderful, I would say it could be one of the best, especially for a F2P game, but that won't happen, because Gaijin doesn't listen to any of it's playerbase. It only ever will do something if its potential profits are at risk, which having 30k mostly negative reviews might do. I guarantee you, it's the only reason they changed it or addressed the issue. The only reason I'll keep playing this game is because I bought stuff at the recent sale and want to try it out.

Thanks for taking your time to read, be sure to stay hydrated.
