The game is simple yet ridiculously complicated. The main gameplay loop is centred around combat where you and up to 3 buddies go around slicing, splicing, dicing, burning, dissolving, electrocuting, or blowing up technically 4 different races of dudes where each race has different gimmicks. Secondary gameplay loop is centred around gathering different materials and making up new different armours with various abilities (which are truly numerous and various) and creating new weapons that are categorised into primary (rifles, shotguns, granade launchers, bows, etc....), secondary (handguns, shurikens etc....) and melee (from swords, axes and hammers, through nunchaks and staves to scythes, fist weapons and many more)
Then comes in a modding system where you acquire mods during missions and can then socket them into your equipment to make it either stronger, give it special attributes or create some special wombo-combos.
There is much more in terms of story and dojos and different missions type and more, but these are the main gameplay components.
The game is completely free. You can pay to get platinum but using it for the shop is hugely inefficient. Platinum is mostly used for P2P transactions which the game fully supports and so the most resourceful players will get their hands on rather large quantities without spending any money whatsoever.
That's about the gist of it.
