This still remains an extremely underrated franchise, and more people need to experience it.
Remnant 2 significantly improves upon the first game by allowing you to combine two classes, creating highly customisable builds with what seems like hundreds of rings and amulets. My favourite combination is the Invoker and Ritualist, letting me play as a lightning/water mage. Pairing it with the Monolith gun to create sand tornadoes and Nebula to send out corrosive nanites makes for an easy room clearer and boss chip damage build. The Summoner and Warden are also really fun.
The procedural generation has been vastly improved, with different bosses and enemy types generated in each area. I especially love the Bloodborne-esque world of Losomn. It's also extremely clever how they've integrated the areas from each DLC into the adventure re-rolls after completing the initial run-through of the DLC.
Some of my favorite bosses include Tal'Ratha, The Nightweaver, The Red Prince, and The One True King. There are so many bosses that I'm still discovering new ones even after 80 hours. I also love the secrets they've added, from secret weapons and armour to hidden classes. It's absolutely amazing how they've incorporated these into the game for players to solve and find, even requiring data mining for a class and weapon.
Cannot recommend enough.

Extremely underrated franchise, dubbed Dark Souls with guns.
If you're a fan of Souls-like games, you definitely need to check this out. One of the standout features is the procedurally generated world, which means each time you re-roll an area, you're likely to face an entirely new boss with completely different objectives. Every playthrough offers a fresh experience with new quests, unique areas, and diverse, well-designed bosses to conquer. The thrill of never knowing what’s around the corner keeps the gameplay engaging and highly replayable. The weapon and armor designs are exceptional.
The Root enemies remind me of the Flood from Halo, offering a relentless and terrifying presence that keeps you constantly on edge. They add a significant challenge and intense atmosphere to the game.
"The Root will stop at nothing. They are a force of nature, and we must rise to meet them."
Cannot recommend enough.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is a thrilling prequel that explores the origins of B.J. Blazkowicz’s battle against the Nazis. This shorter addition to the franchise doesn’t take itself too seriously, blending intense action with humor and over-the-top moments. It’s reminiscent of the Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare DLC, but with Nazi zombies.

Ashen is a fantastic co-op Souls-like game and a perfect introduction to the genre. Excellent for playing alongside a friend, harder to recommend solo. Joining each other’s sessions by spinning in circles is a must! The game’s art style and story twists are captivating, and the harder difficulty mode, Children of Sissna, adds an extra layer of challenge. Standout bosses like Ukkoto, Garoran, Sissna, and the DLC boss Riak make each encounter memorable.

Step into an alternate history where the Nazis won World War II, and join war veteran William “B.J.” Blazkowicz in his relentless fight against the oppressive regime. Wolfenstein: The New Order delivers an unforgettable experience with its incredible characters, stunning art direction, and cinematic scenes.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an absolute gem for any Lord or the Rings fan. The standout feature is the Nemesis System, which creates unique and personal rivalries with every encounter. Enemies remember past encounters and evolve, making each battle feel personal and dynamic. The Nemesis System alone makes it worth experiencing, and the game’s quality ensures it stands out in its genre.
One does not simply walk into Mordor…

Doom Eternal takes the demon-slaying, adrenaline-pumping action to a whole new level with a campaign that is much larger in scale, featuring more destinations and a bigger threat, the Dark Lord. The enemy designs pay homage to their original roots, yet both old and new designs are equally impressive. The game also feels more arcadey compared to Doom 2016, with sounds and design. There are far more enemy types and lock-and-key quick swapping mechanics that make it more challenging than its predecessor. The gunplay has vastly improved with the addition of dash, shotgun grapple, and the ability to use the Crucible sword. The Unmaykr from Doom 64 also makes an appearance, complementing the BFG. Some notable enemy types that made the game feel more challenging at higher levels include the Marauder, Doom Hunter, armoured Barons of Hell, Dread Knights, Tyrants, and Carcasses. Despite the hate the Marauder gets, he is one badass enemy type! The toy collection aspect is more fleshed out and feels rewarding to see them on your shelves in your Fortress of Doom floating above Earth. It’s another excellent addition to the Doom franchise.
The only thing they fear… is you, Doom Slayer!

One of the greatest games ever made. A true masterpiece. A sprawling open world with breathtaking landscapes, intricate storylines, and unforgettable characters. The attention to detail is unparalleled, from the dynamic weather system to the realistic animal behaviour. The game offers countless activities, from hunting and fishing to engaging in intense shootouts and heists. The tragic tale of Arthur Morgan, a complex and deeply human character, adds a profound emotional depth to the experience.

Demon-slaying, adrenaline-pumping action as you rampage through Mars and Hell, all while listening to the epic masterpiece OST—especially the heart-pounding ‘BFG Division’ by Mick Gordon, absolute genius. It’s an excellent addition to the Doom franchise. Rip and tear, Doom Slayer!

Easily the best and biggest DLCs for a game I've ever played. A DLC masterpiece.
32 new bosses, 70 new weapons, 10 new shields, 39 new talismans, 14 new sorceries, 28 incantations, 20 new spirit ashes, 25 new ashes of war, 30 new armour sets and a bunch of new crafting materials.
Bayle, Messmer, Midra and Rellana are some of the best if not the best boss fights from any FromSoft game.
“Curse You Bayle!”
"I will riddle with holes your rotten hide! With a hail of harpoons!"
Cannot recommend enough.
