The developer has walked back their previously announced plans to remove the game's soundtrack.

While we should continue to be wary of a developer who thought it would have been appropriate to yoink away something you've already purchased, the danger of that happening appears to be less imminent.

The product itself is fantastic, and, provided it won't be taken away from you, I recommend it.

Previous review:

According to the latest announcements, this developer just got bought out by Lofi Girl (cool)... who are then proceeding to completely remove Homework Radio's entire award-winning nine-album soundtrack from the game (!!!) to be replaced with their own music.

That amazing soundtrack is 99% of why this game has such overwhelmingly positive reviews. Aside from the anti-competitive ickiness of a 15M subscriber label buying out and erasing a project of a 0.5M subscriber underdog, there is the unnatural anti-consumer act of reaching out and taking away a product that people have already bought and purchased.

Even if Homework Radio's soundtrack were available for separate download, the game has no way to play songs from your own on-disk music library, so it can't be restored that way.

Not only does this game make me feel like I am playing soccer, it makes me feel like I am good at it. This is the best game that's made me feel this way since Rocket League.

FYI if you get the captain's pass (a.k.a. battle pass), save up the gold coin currency and you will have exactly enough at the end to get next season's captain's pass.

So far the gameplay is polished, the puzzles are smooth sailing with a few challenges, the graphics are good, the voice acting is... mercifully limited to the intro cinematic, the controls are serviceable, and the characters are cute.

But the music. The music. The music is fantastic. And by that I don't mean that the game happens to have some nice MP3s playing in the background. The music IS the game. It's like everything on screen contributes to the symphony, making it unique after every level. This game raises the bar for sound design, and because (a) the music and sound design are great, and (b) the sound design is so tightly wound with the game itself, that results in (c) the whole game being lifted to greatness. Conducting a solved puzzle in Tempopo is a downright joyful experience, I cannot recommend it enough.

This game has a "privacy" tab in the settings. It informs you that data collection is ON by default. Including data about your PC and what's on it.

There is no option in-game to turn it off.

There is a link that is supposed to open a browser window where you can supposedly review and opt-out of the data collection. The link does not work, even when I disable my browser's pop-up blocker function. Nothing happens when you click it.

I'm enjoying the game so far, and the dev seems attentive at addressing bugs, so I supported him on Ko-fi.

I bought this because I wanted to play women's soccer, this game prominently features a woman on the cover, and I want to support games that have gender representation.

It turns out that in this game, all the teams, in all the tournaments and all the cups, are all men's teams. All the national teams, all the city clubs, every last one.

So if you want to play women's soccer, it looks like you have to go through and manually create eleven new avatars for every team, one by one. Even then, this game does not include several nations traditionally strong in women's soccer, including Canada, Australia, and the United States (!!!).

I don't understand. The developer already did the hard part of creating a bunch of character models and assets for women. Why not include at least a couple women's teams?

I found out the hard way that it does not support controller navigation. Awful experience, refunded.

Crestfallen, I was really looking forward to playing.

This game forces you to externally back up and load program files if you want to actually save your progress.

I have no idea what a Hololive is, but even so this is arguably the best survivorlike on Steam. Awesome that it's freeware, major kudos to the developer for sharing this project with everyone.
